Just got a copy of the "California Calling" bootleg of the US festival show.

During "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" VH jumps into a couple of other tunes - an early instrumental version of "Girl Gone Bad" and a tune called "I'm So Glad" - which sounds incredibly familar. Did any portion of that song become part of any VH song (Dave, Sammy or Gary era) -- in the same way that the guitar riff at the very end of "Jump" evolved into "Top of the World."

"I'm So Glad" was written by Delta bluesman Skip James and later covered by Cream.

You do know that I'm So Glad is a Cream cover, right? I've always thought a Cream cover would be a good cover tune to do if they were to record one on the new album. Actually, I'm So Glad was orignally written by Skip James.

I have read several interviews with Ed where he says he could play "Wheels of Fire" and "Disraeli Gears" note for note, he is also a huge Clapton fan....you guys probably knew this though...

Dave mentions in his book when he first joined the band, how he explained to Ed & Al why they couldn't get gigs at clubs..."You play all 20 minutes of I'm So Glad...complete with drum solo, live, note for note, and it's very impressive, but you can't dance to it." (p.68) Uh, you guys think I've read this book too many times??? While we're on this subject, my favorite version from this tour on live boots is from the Caracas show, on the boot "I'm So Glad". Even better than the US Festival IMHO.
