Why do i post a message and come back an hour later and it says the topic is closed?? I do not understand this. I would ask this in the questions forum or whatever but nobody answers. Also, ive added replies to messages and come back and they are gone. What the hell is going on here? thanks to anyone who replies, i just hope this one isnt a "topic closed" when i come back.

Hey, I feel cool because I got to this one before an actual moderator....of course I don't know what I am talkin aboot, but sometimes when a topic is closed it just means that it has been moved to the correct forum.

I can answer at least part of your question. First off, questions asked in the feedback forum are always answered. Brett is a busy guy, and can't answer them right away, but he's usually pretty quick about it. That, or somebody else will provide the answer.

As far as topics being closed go, that's up to the forum's moderator. We generally only close topics that have degenerated into name-calling or something similar. That's not a hard and fast rule, but it holds true in most cases.

Sometimes a topic will be posted in the wrong forum. I'm not always sure where some topics I post should go, and I've been around for a while. We try to keep all the forums on-topic as best we can. It makes finding what you want to read and write about a whole lot easier, and is one of the best parts of this site. If you post something in the wrong forum, a mod will move it into the right forum. It'll look like the topic has been closed, but when you go to read it you'll see in the upper left corner where it's been moved to. Usually the mod that moves it will post a reply telling you where it's gone to.

As far as your replies not appearing, that could be due to a few things. Mods don't delete replies here, except in certain extreme cases. When I read and post from work, I never see my replies. We're running Novel Border Manager there, and it's set to cache pages. So my replies make it into the topics, but I can't see them from work. Something similar might be causing your problem.

And yeah, this topic will be moved pretty soon. It'll look like it's closed, but it will have been moved into the Feedback/Questions forum.

Thanks, that pretty much clears it up. It was probably moved to another forum. But, i did ask a question in the feedback/questions forum and went back and it was gone. Dont know what happened, but it was no longer there. Thanks!

Yeh I moved a topic of yours a bit earlier man, moved to meeting place (non music)

Main discussion gets pretty busy at times, it's actually beneficial for your topic to be in a smaller forum, it can get lost pretty quicly in main if noone replies within a few hours

90% of the time, if a topic is moved, or closed the moderator who does it will post a message saying 'moving this' or 'closing this because' to explain it.. just go into the closed topic, and read the last post, it will usually explain whats happened. Sometimes if we get REALLY busy we wont post an explanantion, but thats the exception, not the rule.

I'll leave this here for a little while, then move it to feedback/questions later.. Any question bout the way we run the place PLEASE ask us (this goes for everyone)... theres usually a pretty good explanation.. Dont sit there stewing on it
