Where is Dave?

We've all been ragging on VH (me included). Today while driving back from lunch I heard Ladies Night in Buffalo - great tune.

From 96 till now, Dave has released one Greatest Hits package and one CD.

By my calculations, that puts DLR in the same recording speed boat as Van Halen. Sure, Dave has been on tour every summer (almost exclusively playing old VH tunes).

What the fuck does he do for the other 10 months??? Sure he made a shitty DVD...but at least Eddie can say that he's had cancer, new hip, no success in finding a new singer and a divorce as reasons why he hasn't released new stuff. What can Dave say? [img]graemlins/irked.gif[/img]

Dave has a new little video clip on his website ( [ David Lee Roth's Web Page ) and as far as I know and read in the paper that Dave is currently sueing Van Halen.....

I just think it's funny how people rag on these guys for not working more. Who among us wouldn't take it easier if we were as wealthy as these guys? Bottom line, they can work when they feel like it. It's a nice luxury to have.

OK, Sam didn't do 99% VH last year, but he did 0% of his material after Red Voodoo (at least when i saw him)...so he falls into the same category there...

Define rich. I don't know if Dave, Al or Eddie can be defined as rich. Sammy probably has more money than the brothers and I'd bet that Mike does too.

Bad habits, bad investments, bad marriages (Al), and bad management can burn through money real damn fast.

I mean the Brothers have written many timeless albums - more that DLR obviously, they have hot chicks all over them and probably have boats of cash. Sure their health is in the shitter - but that comes and goes....supposedly Dave has some wear and tear on himself....

Point remains - Dave has done about the same in terms of musical generation as what VH has done. But we rag on VH - but not Dave....

Nothing on DLR's website indicates there is some new shit coming. We've only seen off the cuff comments from his band mates....that are now probably 8-9 months old.

Dave is doig squat right now.

Again, why do we slag on the brothers but not Dave?
