If you were asked to produce VH's next cd using unreleased songs, what would they be, in order, and what will be the first single to be released to radio? this can be unreleased studio or live material, or covers... also- any recommendations to change lyrics, solos, openings, etc.

my recommendation:

track listing:

1. show on the road (adjust lyrics on bridge)
2. still alive and well (cover of j. winter)
3. big trouble (first single)
4. swim in your ocean
5. babe don't leave me alone
6. light in the sky
7. eyes of the night
8. she's the woman
9. believe me
10. turn out the lights
11. lets get rockin'
12. (hidden track) superstitious (cover of s. wonder)

sorry- been gettin' back into the VH bootlegs lately...

You've got some good ones but you forgot 'Down In Flames'. That song from the '78 Japan shows kicks ass. I know the beginning was used in 'You're No Good' but the intro could be changed easily enough. There's also some material from the 'Wild Life' movie that could be used.

Well, I guess it'd be like this:

Bullithead (first single)
Voodoo Queen
That's why I Love You
Big Trouble
Last Night
Angel Eyes
Rock N' Roll Hootchie Coo (the cover)
She's the Woman

I guess that's it.

being the in-the-closet van hagar fan that i am - it is too bad that more unreleased stuff didn't surface out of the van hagar era... i bet some of their best songs with sammy will probably never be heard because they weren't "radio-friendly" or something stupid like that... (like crossing over)

i like alot of the unreleased halen songs better than the released ones...

I don't know that they did an unreleased studio version but I've heard live cover versions of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition". As a matter of fact, I heard different versions with Dave & Sammy. I think it's just one of those cool riffs, that Ed always dug. I would've love to hear a studio version.
