Hi All,
We all know about the 'problems' in the VH Camp.
Did it ever occur to ya that all the bashing might be as well a reason for VH to keep quiet?
Just some examples to clear this thought up a bit:
If they reunite with Sam, alot of DaveHeads will be very pissed.
If they reunite with Dave, alot of Samheads will be dissapointed at least.
Could a new singer (#4) bring up to the high expectations we all have? I mean look what happened to Gary!
No matter what they do, it will always be a bummer to a lot of us because we fans are not a unity!
It happened before that bands were not happy when their fans were bashing about decisions that they made and it sure doesn't make it easier to make important decisions in the future!
Let's just support them in these difficult times and be happy that Sam & Dave are giving us at least a reminder of what has been in the past.
Let's hope we'll get it again in the future....
PEACE! "You go there once, you'll be there twice" CABO WABO!

Even if VH decided to do a tour with Dave and Sammy some of the fans wouldn't be happy. The fans expectations have nothing to do with "the delay". We'll see in 3
And beyond the horizon.... a sound was heard.

I wouldn't take the bantor on the message boards to be a clear indicator of where the bulk of Van Halen fans are at...
Yes there are a number... less than 100 of vocal people across all the boards stating their take on the situation.
The DLR -vs- Sam -vs- Gary debate will never die... I predict there will be full scale wars fought in the Middle Eastern United States 2000 years from now due to the fanatical adventures of Van Halen fans...
I'd say as a whole VH would pack the house if their next musical output is on par with their better releases no matter who is singing.
Look at the turnout at the DLR & Sam tour so far... there's thousands of fans who've never even looked at these boards puttin down their cash for an hour and a half for each of the former frontmen...Woke up this mornin, got Blue Moon in your eyes...

Regardless if it's Sammy or Dave, Eddie and Al are going to have to eat some major crow if either one comes back. I believe Sammy is going to be the choice. Mike's frequent jamming with Sammy on the Roth\Hagar tour, to me is a strong signal of them working with Sammy again. I don't believe Eddie wants to be a retro act like KISS. He wants to write new material and Dave, (in eddie's eyes, not mine)is not up to par.
However, Sammy keeps bashing Eddie in interviews and that's just adding fuel to the fire. Hell, I don't know.....

Eddie respects us enough to produce an album and tour that is genuine...not contrived with Cabo tequila and ONLY old material. Think reasonably folks!!

Achievements:
Any band that is 25 years old, and has been completely invisible for 4 years, should be extremely happy that they still have passionate (sp?) fans. Passion spills over at times, surely someone who has lived that long in the public eye has to be aware of that.
Good topic for the Opinions/Speculation forum, sending it over that way.

Uh, no.
You'll get a vocal minority on either side moaning about their particular hero not getting the spotlight, but who really gives a damn at this point? I sure don't.
VH doesn't care what the fans think in the least. If these last few years aren't proof of that, I don't know what is.

I agree that Eddie doesn't give a fuck what his fans or the public wants. Just look at 1996.
Frankly, this talk about how no decision would please everybody is a little overblown. When the band threw Sam out and supposedly were getting Dave, very few people (besides some Sam-heads and the odd VH fan) were upset. The media were cheering, a giant amount of fans (me included) were cheering. The general press concencus was "It's about time." Now obviously it didn't pan out, and the band went on to ruin their careers in a few easy steps. But had it gone through (or if getting Dave back now somehow goes through), there will be few complains except for some people on this list and the odd press person who prefers Sam.
This is not meant to be another "Dave is better" post. I'm just saying that there is a large audience for a reunion. Most people don't sit around wondering why Van Halen hasn't acted. But if they suddenly jumped out of nowhere with David Lee Roth as their singer, people would be very prepared. There wouldn't be much of a backlash. Heck, even a lot of the Sam-heads on this forum would just be happy to see the band doing SOMETHING!"I had a girl beating on my hotel door all night...She was screaming, crying. Finally, I said, 'What the hell'...and I let her out!"- DLR
