Loyalty is a two way street. If Eddie and the boys were to disrespect the fans yet again after nearly a full year of silence and come out with yet another unqualified singer, they aren't showing much loyalty to the fans who supported them for decades.

I didn't jump ship during the Van Hagar era despite all the cheese ballads, and lyrical crimes such as Spanked, Amsterdam, Big Fat Money etc. I honestly tried to listen to VD III, despite my outrage at the 96 bullshit. If it had been a good album, I might have even bought it.

Today I'm feeling shafted by another musical institution that I have supported for over 20 years, so this may not be the best day to ask me this question. But here goes my irrevocable statement....

If anybody other than David Lee Roth is singing on that album, I will not buy it, or any other "Van Halen" album ever again...

But we all know that isn't going to happen, don't we

Yes FORD we know that is not going to happen. My left nut could be the new singer and you would still by the album. So would I. The music would sound real BALLSY! I truely believe Roth will be back. But, my mind changes every 5 minutes so who gives a shit what I think. I'm just a moron on the internet trying to entertain myself and others. What does loyal mean? If I hear something and it sounds good then I'll probably buy the album, but it won't be first day, first in line.

If they tour w/o Dave it will be in small venues so I might go just to get close to the band. But yeah I'd be disppointed - I'd probably revert to the same indifference I had from 96-99 and listen to the old stuff.

So, if Dave isn't coming back, and what is taking place right now is deception, then Dave is taking part in it as well. If VH owes a level of honesty to their fans, Dave does also. So if VH should be boycotted for misleading and not providing the fans what a majority of them want, should Dave's next project be boycotted also?
