Mojo Nixon oughtta write a song.
Perusing ESPN.com, reading an article about "The Ewing Theory" (a theory that sometimes teams get better when stars leave, i.e. the Seattle Mariners), when lo and behold, what band should be evoked? That's right - Van Halen!:
Can the Ewing Theory be applied to the entertainment world?
That's a little bit tougher, because people don't write off bands, TV shows and movies the same way we write off sports teams. With that said, there have been a number of Ewing Theory moments when an impending loss seemed devastating and ended up becoming a blessing in disguise. For instance:...
2. Van Halen, 1986: After David Lee Roth's sudden departure, everyone writes off the band when cheesy '80s singer Sammy Hagar is brought aboard. They end up releasing two successful albums ("5150" and "0U812") and not totally embarrassing themselves.
(complete article: Ewing Theory 101)
actually, this was referenced off another article by the same writer, who also wrote:
Thoughts while wondering if Joel Goodson ever got into Princeton
When they have the "Which Rock Star Is Aging The Worst" Olympics, Gene Simmons and Eddie Van Halen will definitely battle in the semifinals for the right to face Keith Richards...

On Sports 1140 here in Sac, Grant Napear always uses either Humans Being or Black and Blue for bumper music...

I'm sure VH1 will turn into the Van Halen Network for a few days once everything falls into place.
BTW, I don't think anyone stands a chance vs Keith "The King of Cool" Richards in those finals.
That Cycling With the Devil picture is hilarious, billy. VHLinks Fantasy Baseball Champions: 2004, 2009, 2011

that Lance Armstrong kicks some serious ass over here. especially for Jan Ullrich, poor german wonderboy ... before there was Miguel Indurain (won 5 tour de frances) and now there is Lance Armstrong.
guess, he's really cyclingwtd
lol
would like to know if Armstrong listens to some VH, f.ex. Jump, to get up and nothing gets him down afterwards.
cheers,
SToRMdave, we'd like to go upstairs, the two of us, with you ...
