I just heard on WTUE 104.7 that VH has a few songs for a mini series this Fall...Magic Carpet Ride is one of them.
I know this could be moved to the rumour mill....but I finally heard this somewhere for the first time on the radio myself

The only place you'll hear "Magic Carpet Ride" in a film this year will be in the aussie film that is about to be released in the USA called "The Dish". It won't be hearing Van Halen playing it either...

hey, I've got tickets for a preview screening of The Dish tonight

Bradman has said the MCR rumour is complete fabrication - I don't suppose it will die any time soon though

I emailed wtue and asked where they got their info...their response:

"IT WAS ON ONE OF OUR PREP SERVICES, SO IT USUALLY PRETTY RELIABLE."

What is Prep Services?

Angel,

"Prep services" are what we radio bums lovingly refer to for our "show prep". Y'know, when you hear a DJ say something unknown about a particular band or song or even create a stunt that you talk about later in the day.

A lot of that stuff comes from these "prep services". A lot of DJ's use them...some DJ's rely solely on their own mind and creative abilities, but most use these show prep materials in some way or another.

Some of these services are Launch, American Comedy Network, Premiere Networks, Bitboard and several others. It's wise to believe them at your own peril.

Most of us jocks use them as kind of a "did you know/hear" thing. If your favorite DJ is smart, he won't validate everything he reads from these sheets as pure gospel.

....sorry, yeah it's in there. The original Steppenwolf version for about 10 seconds....cool movie
