Like most areas of the country nowadays, the area I live in has several CD shops that sell pre-owned CDs. Out of curiosity, I was wondering which used VH titles move quickly in your area. I can tell you around here, any and all Dave era VH is out the door within 24hrs of the store receiving it. Of the sammy era stuff, 5150 seems to go quickly, followed next by 0U812. There are always a couple copys of Balance and RHRN. Without a doubt, the #1 VH dust collecter is F.U.C.K. Surprising, as many Van Hagar fans cite this as their favorite album with Sammy. Rarely do I spot a used copy of VH3. As for solo stuff, not much Sammy stuff around. Plenty of copies of ALAE and YFLM. All other Dave solo stuff goes quick. Just an observation from someone who frequents the used CD shops alot.

hey there. Corroborating with your results, i bought f.u.c.k at a used cd shop. it's the ONLY VH cd that I've seen in there ever.

The used CD shop that I check out on occasion always has some VH CD's and actually it's usually ones from all eras, although they do seem to have more of VH III than the others. Dave wise, they rarely have anything, although that's where I bought A Little Ain't Enough. They usually have a few of the early 80's solo albums from Sammy. I like to check out their vinyl collection and in fact I've started to buy VH LP's just to have them, even though I don't own a record player. Everytime I go there, I hope to find some treasure, but it rarely happens.

I have a buddy who runs a used CD store. When VH3 came out, he was hit with hundreds of people wishing to sell it or or trade it for ANYTHING--posters, mouse pads, playstation games, you name it. He had to start turning them away! To really drive the point home, the first 25 he got in (which never sold) were eventually used as BB gun targets for the neighborhood kids. SO, that is why here there are no used copies of III to go around. Maybe everyone's been refusing them. In fact, National Record Mart offers an exchange policy if you aren't satisfied with a purchase, and THEY got SWAMPED with returns for it. The way I figure, if enough copies are destroyed, VH3 COULD become a collector's item. Just gotta wonder what type of collection that would fit into. Any guesses????....I can hear it now......'ready.........ready.......PULL.....CRACK !!!!' .......ready......PULL......(silence)....DAMN IT! Load another one!....

I hear you guys. Like you Glenn, I'm always trying to find a little "treasure". Actually about three years ago, I found a CD that looked alot like WACF but was red, I believe. The liner notes said that this was sent out to members of the VH fan club after WACF was released.(Obviously copied from vinyl) The CD contained outtakes from the WACF sessions. Very interesting alternate lyrics to Everybody wants some Some and Romeo Delight. Unfortunately, the sound quality was absolutely horrible. I didn't even bother to transfer it to cassette, as it just would have been flat-out unlistenable. This CD, along with many others, was stolen from me shortly after I purchased it when my car was broken into. Shit!

One CD I never saw used is Eat Em And Smile. I see all the other DLR solo CD's for about 5 bucks. I've never seen Sammy solo albums used! All the VH CD's are easy to find where I live, Balance is the most common one.

Believe it or not I saw a used copy of Van Halen at a used CD store...

But seeing how I own it on vinyl, tape and Compact Disc, I didn't buy it.

USED CD STORES ROCK......the little place I go to...I love it...that's where I discovered Van Halen! I bought Balance, OU812, the Twister soundtrack, the bootleg '77 + Live, and 2 copies of RHRN there.

I don't get there very often, but there's usually at least a couple copies of Balance there. There used to be a stack of copies of VH3, but now they're not so frequent. Believe it or not, I think the same copy of Fair Warning has been in there for 6 months! (maybe it's scratched??)
