Yes, Eddie is primed and ready to kick all our asses! The bullshit with Sammy and Dave. And the ass kick'n VH3 and Gary recieved. Plus, the cancer scare and the new hip. Ed has been through a lot of bullshit recently and it is time for all that anger to come out and knock everyone on their asses. This guy is the best guitarist in the world. You make not like VH3. But, you have to admit that the guitar work is truly amazing. Ed has not lost anything to old age. He is just as incredible and ingenious as he was when he has 23 years old. Now, it is Van Halen's time to rise from the ashes with DLR and show the world they are still mighty. People will buy the new album and flock to the shows because of the excitement of DLR being back with the band. But, they will leave the show in complete astonishment at how great Eddie is in concert. Anyone who saw Eddie in concert 2 years ago knows what I'm talking about. I have seen VH in concert for 15 years and he still is as good as he was 15 years ago. He just knows how to ROCK! I truly believe Eddie will outshine Dave on this new album and new tour. Eddie Van Halen is going to rule the music scene.Peace out.

A minute ago, I read your post basically saying that Dave is King, giving the impression that he rules Edward, and that Van Halen had to crawl back to him because VHIII was so awful, not to mention your opinion that they have to get back together and put out a CD because they're almost in their 50s (which I assume to mean they're a step away from over the hill), and now you're expounding on Edward besting Dave and how he still rocks like he's 23. I know you're a VH fan, man, but what gives with these extremes (no pun intended)?

I agree with you that Edward is certainly going to channel his anger, frustration, and maybe fear and sadness into this next batch of songs. Look at Balance! With Dave vocalizing that kind of raw energy and power, we're set for MEGA Van Halen!!!!

wouldnt be fucking the best to see eddie pull out all the stops.
and make a album simliar in style of the first one but all new riffs.

You know what your talking about lefthandtapper! Vh needs to get back with the past when they used to fucking rock and crank out some of that shit. Old school or no school is my phylosiphy. I want a song like ON FIRE and AINT TALKIN BOUT LOVE on the new record. Every song should be about fuck you asshole or fuck you bitch. This has to be a fuck you world kind of record. I sure hope Eddie's anger comes out in this record. This album is personal. It's gonna slap people upside their head and make them feel bad that they ever doubted the MIGHTYVANHALEN!Peace out.

I'm not sure Ed is all that angry about anything at this point in his life, but I know the energy you refer to in his playing. Look, Ed is Ed! Well said about III's guitar performance madden, it was truly great work. The best way not to be dissapointed by the new stuff is to not expect the past. These guys have grown to much, as have we.

They are the creators and it has been said too many times on the links before. If you are waiting to be takin' back to the time when Van Halen entered your life, during your growing years, your wait may be in vain. Listen to the old stuff when you want that feeling. When the new stuff arrives let it create great new memories for you! It will, I'm sure.

BAM2266, I do expect the best, not the past. Your right, this new album will probaly be different then any other. That is fine with me as long as it rocks. And what about "Ballot or the Bullet", what a killer riff! If Ed comes up with riffs like that on the new record, WOW!Peace out.

I do expect VH to move forward musically but I would like to see them grab bits and peices from the past like - stacking the amps nice and high - Ed's stripped guitars - Alex's huge drum kits - Mike's JD Base.

I do expect the music to reflect who they are now - not 4 twenty some year old's.

Hey I'm sorry but I really don't see Ed releasing any anger through his guitar. I mean maybe 15 years ago, maybe like a Fair Wairning album, but that was a totally different Ed. Since then he has quit drinking, and had some sort of "awaking",3 lead singers have come and gone, he's had a kid and he has weathered many storms. I read in an article where Ed he dosn't think there is a hell, hell is what you make of life. I totally think that if anything we could see a little of the new Ed and a Little of classic kick-your-ass Ed, but for Madden, I don't think that Ed is gonna kick out asses, but I do think that he will come out with the best "guitar" album of the year and since "1984"
