As you all know, living in today's world is a constant "cover your ass", especially when it comes to lawyers, trademarks, patents, etc...
It could very well be that because of the way things are on this world it is necessary for EVH to take these kinds of steps to protect himself. It could also be that this is just standard fare for the legal process of getting a trademark, with no intention of attacking anybody personally. I doubt that EVH said to his lawyers,
"go after these people"...it is more probable that it is just standard legal ramblings.

As usual, it would be nice for Ed to comment on the situation. Its not like he has a website or anything.

i agree, he could keep in touch with the fans now and then. at the motley crue site you can ask any member of the band a question and they answer them themself. or you can just post with other board members. why cant vh do that at their site?
