DLR pulls out of UK dates!!

David Coverdale has confirmed on his website that Diamond Dave himself had agreed to take the "Special Guest" slot on Whitesnake's forthcoming Monsters Of Rock UK tour, only to pull out almost immediately giving no reason for his decision.....

Dave's fabulous one-of-a-kind Van Halen tribute band could have raked in the big bucks over there in Europe. Shit, even Jerry Lewis is popular in France so I think Dave still has a shot there.

Thought that David Coverdale had joined Van Halen and he was wanting Dave to come join that band?

Sammy is planning on touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Surely, Sammy is going to call and ask if Dave wants to tag along.

I'm guessing that concert packages come together and fall apart all the time before we get a ticket stub with the final line-up printed on it. Therefore I can't see any reason to piss on DLR over this. Especially given that we know none of the circumstances.

It couldn't have been too much of a done deal if the only place the info has leaked out is from Coverdale himself AFTER the 'deal' apparently fell through. Doesn't sound to me like this got far enough along that DLR even owes an explanation.

no big deal. not like DLR was announced as being on the bill when tix went on sale, and then backed out, and not quite the same as a certain someone cancelling the last couple shows of his tour because he blew his voice out...

Didn't Dave cancel his last show in Vegas not too long ago? The one with Joan Jett on the bill? Still, he is one behind Sammy on that front.

These are instances where an explanation would be nice, but not in the Whitesnake case!!
