NWA, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Ice T, etc changed rap. Outkast? Unsure about that.

I like all those artists. It is a crime against humanity that Iron Maiden isn’t in the Hall. One of the best and most important metal bands of all time.

Off the top of my head I would say without OutKast you don't have Janelle Monaee or Childish Gambino. They might still be something, but they would not sound the way they do.

For me, I have no problem with qualified Rap/Hip Hop artists being in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I’ve said it before. Rock music is equal parts guitar driven music, descended from the blues and giving the finger to “the man”. For my money those artists all fall into the latter column. As do many others.

Mariah Carey is the least rock n roll person to be nominated since Bon Jovi.

VS, I love shrooms but never liked Phish. I admit they are good musicians but they are boring. Especially live. No melody that I could tell, just mindless endless jamming. I'd be very surprised if they get inducted but stranger things have happened!

Bad Co is one my all-time fave classic rock bands and still can't believe they aren't in the RRHOF. They made some killer music and Paul Rodgers was a legend in his own right. He was second only to Brad Delp's stellar vocals. Out of all the nominees I hope BC gets in the most. If they do, it's just a shame original bassist Boz Burrell isn't with us to enjoy the moment...
