Glad someone brought up Widespread Panic. I was looking last night for the 1 Phish CD I thought I had, turns out it was WP - Light Fuse, Get Away I was thinking of. I like that album.

I'm sure had 1 Phish album on cassette... wide lens shot of a guys face... the forgotten music from the 90's.

I seriously listened to a few live songs by Phish recently. 4k HDR. Great quality.

Jazz Odyssey was better. Plus Derek Smalls had a Frankenstrat inspired bass

Zep was kinda a jam band, at least when they played live. During certain songs like No Quarter and Whole Lotta Love they would go into extended musical interludes. Even Bonzo would solo for half an hour and probably longer if they let him. As Robert famously told the audience at Earls Court, he had a commode for his drum seat!

I’m not here to sell this band to yall or jam bands in general

Allman Bros , Dead, Widespread Panic, Billy Strings, etc - chasing a live spark exploring the space and getting the crowd dancing (while yall stand there arms crossed skoffing because it’s no longer 1987) - going to those shows is like a carnival - from wandering around on Shakedown, seeing a unique show , then avoiding the nitrous mafia on your walk back to the car *

The Allman brothers actually had talent. Duane Allman is widely considered the best slide guitarist. And Betts picked up the torch not too long after because he had to. Gregg and the guys basically made up southern rock. And inspired a lot of people. Including Phish, widespread panic, lynryd skynrd, Charlie Daniel’s, 38 special, and everyone in a jam band all the way down to Dave Matthews.

They deserve the love they get.

Had to look them up. Yeah, I like a bunch of their songs, didn't remember the name. I think possibly the Joy Division part through me off, and also, I am getting old and forgetting shit.

Just curious but for fans of Oasis, are they a HOF band?

I only like a few of their songs, but they are a HoF band.
They were HUGE. They were at the forefront of the Britpop movement. Their reunion tour, this year, is likely the biggest tour of the year.

Oasis is a HOF band cause here we are in 2025 and they likely will have the most successful tour of 2025 gauging attendance per show. They were huge in the 90's and considering how America typically sneers at UK bands, they were popular here as well. Now do I think they are as worthy of lets say our favorite band with regards to changing music? No. However far more deserving that a lot of acts in there.
