Mana is not just huge in South America and Mexico. They are huge here in the states. They sell out multiple nights at the forum without breaking a sweat. I'm not a fan, but the majority of California and the greater American southwest most definitely is.

Billy Idol is not watered down punk. Idol and Stevens have kept the pop hard rock banner flying long near as long as Van Halen, and then beyond after Ed died. They deserved entry years ago. Few old school gunslingers rival Stevens these days. He's literally the most underrated master of our era.

Soundgarden and Bad Company will surely get in.

Phish sucks. But they've got a devoted fanbase for sure.

Soundgarden will and should get in.

Mariah will get in and likely should due to length of career

    New Order should get in.

Rolling Stone favs White Stipes will get in but shouldn't. However since their contribution is to be played at college football games, well that's fine

    Outkast should buy a ticket
The only "pop" music I ever really cared about as a child was The Beatles. Then The Beatles took drugs and became a "studio" band. As a child and tween, I never listened to AM Top 40 radio.

I did enjoy much of the "New Wave" "pop" - but not pop like John Mellancamp or Pat Benetar.

I still think that the greatest pop band ever was The Beatles.

Rover, I hear you but I do listen to a few on the list fairly often: Bad Co, Billy and Soundgarden being the most prominent. I also love Joy Division/New Order altho some of my friends thought they were too dark and depressing back then. Mariah and Oasis will get in for sure, just on their name alone. Don't wanna disparage them too much but the RRHOF itself is quite a controversial topic of it's own.

How is it that Chubby Checker hasn’t already been inducted years ago is beyond me.

Now I wonder how many other’s of his stature have been overlooked. I’m guessing there’s a few more one would assume are already in there that aren’t.

Good to see OutKast finally listed. They certainly fit the criteria. Hey Ya. Hey Ya. Uh Uh Oh Oh.

Now if they could also nominate Nelly and Kesha they might finally earn some real credibility.

All kidding aside, I really hope Oasis makes it in. They are all phenomenal musicians but the Gallagher bros are truly special. I'm drinking for them right now!

I do admit that Ziggysmalls isn't the best person to understand the greatness of Mana or Outkast. That said I would imagine an Outkast fan can't comprehend Iron Maiden or why Joan Jett got in before Pat Benetar.

I still go by Ziggysmalls theory that the criteria for getting in should be this.' The band doesn't exist or the person doesn't exist. Does rock and roll, pop, rap, R&B, etc change.

Eddie Van Halen should get in as a solo artist along VH. They changed music. While I think ANC is better than Nirvana, Nirvana should get in and yes Soundgarden.

NWA, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Ice T, etc changed rap. Outkast? Unsure about that.

However Rolling Stone has a different criteria and I recognize that. They should simply put bands that are deserving at the front of line. That's all.

I like OutKast. I can make a reasonable case for the likes of Beastie Boys and Run DMC to be in the RnR Hall of Fame even though they are rap acts. I can not make a similar case for OutKast.

That said, if Mariah Carey and Cyndi Lauper are in play ......

Maná is a pretty cool! They are a soft pop Rock band from Guadalajara.

I had the chance to see them live during the MTv Acoustic tour they did in 1999.

Mariposa Traicionera & Lábios Compartidos are 02 nice tunes. Corazón Espinado is a song they recorded with Santana for the Supernatural album from the great guitar player.

I also recommend Vivir Sin Aire - killer tune with some nice lyrics. And they have many live albums and some good compilations as well.

"The reason so many billionaires want to go to space is because guillotines need gravity to function!"

"Não é surpresa pra mim, Você começou pelo fim. Não me comove o pranto de quem é ruim, e assim."

"Tudo pertence a quem tudo produz." "A realidade só é possível graças ao trabalho, e quem trabalha é o proletariado."

Time zones are weird: It's 01PM in Finland, it's 05AM in Mexico. And it's 1930s Germany in the US.
