We Might Be On To Something

Hey VHL. This may be moved to "Rumor" but I consider my contacts very legit.

Last night we had our MTV\Viacom Christmas Party at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. I spoke to four individuals during the course of the evening, all in different departments, that wasted no time sharing with me that David Lee Roth is indeed in the band and still working with Van Halen. They will tentatively tour the Spring of 2001 with new material.

I know we have heard the same song and dance millions of times here but let me leave off by saying that all these people are pretty high ranking people in the company and a few do not interact much with one another, if at all. Their information was consistent . . .even from one individual who was annihilated late in the evening from drinking Jack straight all night. They know how huge a fan I am so they were excited to share this with me. It goes without saying that my night was a ten! I consider my contacts very reputable!

I have drawn my own conclusion. I hope you all do too. Salvation in sight!?

I believe what Georgie says 100% and obviously his contacts are better placed than any of us. But with complete silence from the band you've got to wonder whether the most reasonable sounding rumour is just going round and round.

There's no doubt in my mind that this happened, Georgies word is good enough for me, I guess the only query is the reliablity of the guys he spoke to... but 4 of them with the same story???

I talked to 4 guys yesterday. They all said the same fucking thing! They said Gary was back in the band and they were gonna tour in the spring. See how easy it is to make shit up. i've come to know georgie pretty well in and outside The Links.

he's a tried and true VH fan and a good friend.

he really cares about the band and the rest of us enough to share some insight.

don't forget he also led our "brigade" against the MTV establishment when they SHIT ON VH during the awards show last sept....

i believe these veeps were telling georgie the truth AS THEY KNOW IT is at present.

this is similar information to what i've heard from my WB friends...

it will all come together eventually, guys.

It would be pointless to put an update on the VHND every time someone said "hey, I spoke to XYZ and they confirmed that Dave is back" on a message board.

The reason I posted MJ's stuff is because he's gone out on a limb and given us a range of dates.

We all know Dave is back. If I did an update today saying "Georgie from vhforums just confirmed that Dave is back", it would be met with the reaction of "DUH!!!".

No offense of course to Georgie, this is *great* info. We'd all rather hear this than "hey, I spoke to someone the other day and he said Dave is *out* again".
