Oh my.....an interesting realization....

You know, it occured to me yesterday that we are almost out of July and into August. With all of these rumors swirling around about VH returning in the fall I got to thinking about major fall record releases in the past and something hit me. What major event occurs in the fall that many acts use to promote their upcoming fall release? Why the MTV Music Video Awards of course! That usually occurs the first or second week in September and we know the remasters are due in stores on September 19 and 20. It just makes sense to me that something should happen at that award show! Remember our fated 96 show, when KISS made thier much ballyhooed reunion tour a reality under the Brooklyn Bridge?

This is only a thought that I had and would like to share with my friends here at the Wally World BB.

What do you guys think?

that is a good realization, and it is very possible, given the releases due on the 20th. the only thing that troubles me is the track record that they have earned at that particular awards show.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If they make an appearance on the MTV awards they better poke some fun at themselves. They'll look silly if they try to pretend that 1996 never happened.

As much as I hate that scenario (MTV Awards), I have to admit it would be pretty funny if they came and out said something like "OK, let's try this again, and get it right this time." I still think they could bring the house down if they brought Dave onstage with his mouth duct-taped and wearing a strait-jacket.

Hey, never thought aboot that before. That would be a good way to do it as long as they have some fun with it, which I'm sure they will if they do it. Ya know as much as I dislike MTV, their music awards show has always been good to watch and it has provided some memorable moments.

I think that Ed may be at a point where he could demonstrate he has a sense of humor and have Van Halen reappear at the MTV award. If Van Halen wants to tour and have all ages there (not just old farts like me) they are going to have to appeal to the MTV generation whether I or anyone else on this board likes it or not. Its just makes marketing sense. And I would have alot more respect for Van Halen myself if after all the crap they could show they dont take themselves so seriously all the time. And yes duct taping Dave's mouth would certainly be a good idea.

You know I had the wierdest feeling back in May when all the rumours fell through that the MTV Video Awards could be where it all happens. I mean I kept having my hopes up but the MTV's kept going through my head as possibly the most logical way to correct the 96' debotchery if done right. Although I'm not putting all my bets on it. Just gonna stay cool, calm, collected, and keep my eyes open at all times!

) station on cable.

That "Undressed" bullshit is rank stench crap.

But anyway...

If VH were to be on the music awards it would be great - and more than a little funny.

I really doubt it will happen, but I'd love to see how Dave would riff about it on stage.

Let's face facts, even though MTV sucks, they have a huge market.

It couldn't hurt.
