Van Halen IS gone!!! (currently)

well i figured i'd dust off the old screen name and come on in, after seeing the VMA's last night... i don't have much to say except this: van halen IS gone... the whole point of that little bit was to poke fun at those acts that are has-beens... i love the mighty van halen, but they are (especially to the mass who watches MTV now) has-beens... i'm not mad at MTV for doing that... they have a point... and i DO realize that van halen "made" mtv... that's true... but who cares? you know MTV doesnt!!... so those who are all mad and stuff that they poked fun at van halen, FACE THE REALITY... ya'll can tell that 11 months of silence has taken it's toll on me, for i don't come in here anymore and when i do in fact post, it's something like this... well... i'm just stating what is true... only hope we have is that next year or the year after, van halen will be performing at that fucking award show...

For most of today's MTV generation, Van Halen are not "has beens" but "never have beens". Come 'on guys most these fans weren't even born or were barely old enough to walk when 1984 came out. Unless, you are a fan of hard rock, how the hell would you know who Van Halen was. MTV and the sort don't cater to niche markets. They cater to the superficial, image conscience, hype, commercially driven stuff that the younger crowd are into. Though they've had commercial success, Van Halen has never really been a commercially accepted group, especially in the Dave-era.
