Gotta love the outro to this song. Ed plays some excellent guitar! A very under-rated song in my opinion.

Hell yeah. It's classic VH attitude all the way! Also a great song to play at a strip bar.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

You bet your ass it is, Wolfie3! I can vouch for that--got a peck on the lips for tipping a stripper in Tampa when I was on Spring Break many moons ago while this played--shoulda married her!

Raldo, my friend, it happens to be on my Top 5 list of all time VH songs. Possibly my favorite off 1984!

It's simply amazing. Everybody is perfect. The jam is amazing. Great riff, great vocals. Drums sound amazing. You can hear the bass!

Love this song! Thanks Raldo. Gonna go put it on now!

It's a pretty good song. Doesn't get much attention because of Jump, Panama, and Hot For Teacher on 1984.

I know, 79TH AND SUNSET. When I got the Montreal '84 boot, I was really disappointed that they didn't do a performance of it. And I later learned that they never did on that tour. Or ever.

Let's face it: even on the off-chance there ever is a reunion, it's extremely unlikely that they'll play this not-so-well-known album cut (or HEAR ABOUT IT LATER, which I'd kill to hear live).

DDL is probably my least favorite on the album, but still is a good tune. makes me think of this girl i knew who had the most amazing set of legs i've ever seen.
