Well closing the original DLRARMY thread, just because YOU didn't like the direction it was going, is a perfect example of why we have "The Dump" over at the ARMY in the first place. It's also a big reason that most of us that left this place went to the Army. If we didn't feel the same way you and the Sammy lovers did, we were chastized for it

We give our members a place that they can go and say whatever they feel without fear of being censored. Something that this place and the Van-Halen.com are notorious for!

Read fast, cause I'm sure this will be closed as soon as Brett's panties are wadded up over it...

Everyone who sides w/me??? You moron...that's exactly what the Dump is for. People who don't side with me, Sarge, or anyone else. That's the point. I don't care if you or anyone else doesn't share my opinion about VH, DLR, Sammy Hagar, George Bush or anything else...The point is/was that we provide a place for it without censorship. You don't. The "everyone who sides with you" comment applies to you and VHLinks much more than it applies to me or the ARMY.

You need to accept the fact that these are different sites. Different crowds. Different purpose, and different kinds of respect.

Hell, take me for instance. I'm having a war with FORD over at the Army's Dump right? OK. Well, it's meant to stay there. Some Linkers have gone to my aid over there, and they won't be ratted out. But if you really look at wording, it's not hard to figure out. Anyway, they went there. They could have made threads in Non or whatever, making it a point for people to check it all out. But they don't. They chose to leave it there, and go there to handle it. Why clutter this site with something that has ZERO to do with this site? It's stupid! Yesterday, a big rumble nearly broke out between me and FORD here. I've stated time and time again, that it's meant to STAY there. Yet, FORD brought it to the Dome, and got banned. Then he brings it here when I posted a pic of a fat kid wearing a diaper! It had nothing to do with him. Yet, he felt a need to slam me.

What's my point? Well, the point here is that they (the Links administration) has made it perfectly clear, that they do not promote or encourage, "nasty fighting". I purposely picked a sports debate with Brett a few weeks back. Those are healthy. However, I've seen mods, Brett, and Tim themselves say that if you want this, go there, if you want that, go there.

Certain sites are strong for certain reasons. And others for other reasons. If they were the same, what would be the point of having different ones?

Different strokes for different folks.

Like I said Brett made a durrogatory comment about the ARMY on THIS Board. That's why I addressed it here! Look at the other DLRARmy thread. I do accept the fact that these are different boards, and theres a need for both. I didn't "bring anything to this board" This was started here. I don't have a right to defend the Army's position when questioned??? I think I do.

I am well aware of your's and FORD's war...And have I being a Webmaster at the ARmy ever tried to censor you on it?

There are multiple threads created by hitch endorsed by Army mods and webmasters, who actually responded to it and agreed with it. Get over it!! I don't want to dictate to you how to run your site...Did I tell you to change it? NO.

I personally have not publicly slammed you on the ARmy boards... and I have no control over other's opinions...Mods or Webmasters...

Sorry you think we "shit on you" But I left this place with no ill will before. I left because everytime I voiced my opinion about why I thought DLR was better...or whatever you had to jump in and chastize...fine, your site, run it your way.

I'm just chiming it to mention how curious your (blueeyedmurder) rhetorical choices are. The term "Sammy lovers" is completely irrelevant to the current discussion (the fact that it's a possible backdrop to previous differences of opinion nonwithstanding) and yet you throw it in there.

What's the deal? Is it supposed to be inflammatory, like if I called you "irrelevant"? Or, is it designed to guide the argument into more familiar territory, where you're free to default to easier debating methods ("Sammy is fat", "Sammy is old", etc, etc)?

Again, I'm just curious, because I can't figure out your beef. You claim you're anti-censorship, yet you isolate yourself on a separate web site with likeminded individuals so you'll never have to confront the issue.

Sure, it's easy to pick on Brett and the rest of the VHForums gang. But that's only because you've set up shop in DLR Army territory, where you have a spectacular gang mentality thriving in place of de jure censorship.

Of course, life gets much more complicated when you start to recognize the distinction between de jure and de facto censorship.
