its confirmed that david coverdale is getting off his ass, and bringing whitesnake back. their last show as a band was back in 1997 and before that it was something like 1990. van halens was in 1998.
now van halen has been away quite a while. maybe they will take notice of this and come back to life. im pretty sure if whitesnake can do it, anyone can.

Maybe Coverdale has got back with Whitesnake after his failed attempt at Van Halen's 4th singer ??? *
(* Apologies. This relates to a very old rumour going round).
Only joking. It's good to see. I believe Van Halen will be back in some shape or form, but we've just got to keep waiting. We're good at it now eh ?
Not that my opinion counts for anything anyhow eh ?"<i>You can please <b>some</b> of the people <b>all</b> of the time,<br />And <b>all</b> of the people <b>some</b> of the time,<br />But you can't please <b>all</b> of the people <b>all</b> of the time !</i>"<br /><br />(was Dave5150 on <b><i>The Pleasure Dome</i></b>)<br /><br />Check out some of my music at: <a href="http://www.dave5150.com" target="_blank">www.dave5150.com</a>

I think a big reason David Coverdale is willing to reunite Whitesnake because his solo record BOMBED!
Hopefully he can shed some of his ego and work with John Skyes. Without him, it'll suck...."Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard
"......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT
" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!
But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!- MARD-The Movie

I think we will see Simon & Garfunkel back together before we see Van Halen.

I want Whitesnake to get Steve Vai back, my second choice would be John Sykes. I expect them to get Adrian Vandenburg back though.
Right Now you're reading my post!

Whats the buzz about Whitesnake? I mean if you look at there total song catalog what do you really have? A handful of good songs at best. There an 80's hair band that really weren't even as good as Loverboy. I liked a few of there songs, what I liked most about them was Tauny Ketain. That chick was a sex bomb! She oozed sexualtiy.

First of all, John Sykes will be back. That is the whole point of making a big deal of the Whitesnake reunion. Coverdale and Sykes...back together again. Secondly...most of you people are dolts, when you talk of Whitesnake. Whitesnake was actually a better band in the Mickey Moody-Bernie Marsdan days and thus are truly not a hairband. They just fell victim to the 80's. Blame it on John Kalodner...not David Coverdale. Thirdly...let me remind you that David Coverdale was part of Deep Purple for a time and his albums with them...are considered high quality for the band (considering it was not the original line up).
What drives me insane about you people...is that most of you act like Coverdale came around some time in the 80's...like Bret Michaels or something. Do some research, before you sound moronic. Whitesnake were already gods in the UK...before the rest of the world discovered them. John Kalodner was dying to sign them to Geffen. Hair band...that's quite funny. While Whitesnake has had a revolving door...it has been with some of the most talented people in rock. Not people from Warrant. Do I need to actually make a list of people that have worked with Coverdale. Finally and this goes without saying...David Coverdale buries most people in the vocal department and was always in fact more talented in vocal prowess that Robert Plant (which Page has stated himself). Coverdale/Page beats anything that Van Hagar or new VH put out (including the DLR tracks from Greatest Hits). Nuff said.

That's awesome if Sykes is back. I thought Blue Murder was better than Whitesnake though.
Well that liquor in the night-time leaves strange memories. Seems a lifetime, since yesterday...

Sykes is awesome!I think he's one of the most underated guitarist of his time.He plays good time back to basics kick a#s rock and roll with albums like Thin Lizzy:One Night Only, and the two Whitesnake lps he did.He would be my first choice as guitarist for Whitesnake, but I don't think Coverdale is willing to bring him back as he always talks about wanting to move foward in his interviews. As fas as Coverdale;I know a lot of people hate him and they love to throw him in the same category as Poison,Warrant, and Winger which I think isn't fair. This guy has sung and written some of the coolest rocks songs like in Deep Purples:Mistreated,Burn and Stormbringer,to WS:Slow and Easy and Love Aint No Stranger.I would actually rather that he's be singer#4 for Van Halen than a return of Sammy Hagar.I like Sammy Hagar also but we already know what were going to get on a Van Hagar album some rock song and a lot of ballads obout Love and mid tempo tracks.I think a Van Coverdale album would rock harder and would be interesting to see what Eddie and Dave C. would come up with together.

Are you kidding me JMJ...Coverdale/Page is absolutely better than anything Van Hagar did and I know that I am not the only one that would agree to that. Go to Hard Radio, Melodic Rock, KNAC.com, etc...and many will tell you the same thing. I will go one further for you, David Coverdale's Into The Light is above and beyond any of the Sammy Hagar albums released post VH. You are obviously not a remote fan and that is fine...but don't be so moronic about it. Van Hagar is good...even great AT TIMES...but nothing is spectacular about those albums. If you want to get picky...Whitesnake 1987 is better than anything Van Hagar did and some of what VH with DLR and don't even bother trying to reply...you will lose that arguement for sure. That album is legendary (by anyone's standards)...not all of VH's albums are....although maybe they are in your mind.
