I Got this "quote" from a thread on the Van Halen usenet group - BS or truth? And what is E?

According to E, Alex Van Halen got tipsey at a New Years party and
after a little pressure started talking... "We haven't done or said
anything because my brother is healing and we have families to take
care of. Maybe we'll put something (else) out, maybe we'll call it
quits. We're still thinking about it. Right now, it's looking like
we're calling it quits, does anyone have a problem with that? There's
only so much of your life you can devote to this shit. That's why
atheletes don't play for 20-30 years, after a while it starts to kill
you, and that's all I have to say regarding Van Halen".

Glenn - Just wondering what makes you think that. Personally I could see the members doing their own thing, solo. They're musicians and I don't see them stop making music. But Van Halen the band may not remain.

I don't really believe this one. Both Eddie and Alex have said in previous interviews that music is their life. Maybe they could be done with 'Van Halen' but I don't think we've heard the last of these two. They both are too talented for that. Plus, music is in their blood. They will return someday...

They can't find a singer that will work out for
them AND the fans, and let's face it, the music business has changed a lot since their glory days.
I wonder if Van Halen has stopped being fun for them? Why do it if your not having a good time?
At this point, VH seems to have problems beyond oo
