Again, during pitching changes of last night's game, 'Panama' and 'Dance the Night Away' were blaring thru the speakers. Maybe they should get Van Halen to sing the national anthem instead of N'Stink.

I am in no way an In'sync fan but you have to admit....they did an awsome job with the National Anthem last night. I like how the crown kind of jeered when they first went on but after that performance they went wild. They can sing!!!!

In the 7th when Jeter was on first Fox had one of those "Sounds of the Game" where Jeter and the first base coach were talking. I was listening to their conversation and my wife said they were playing Panama in the background. I didn't even hear it, and she laughed at me.

This is great. My friend and I were watching the game last night and we heard DTNA during a visit to the mound and I said t, "I'll bet they'll be a thread on the board about this in within about 5 minutes." We both laughed. Man I love you guys.

VH has been prominent at Shea for years, especially since Piazza came along and started launching rockets (pun intended) into the flight paths of the planes from nearby La Guardia.
by the way, last night during Mets BP, the almost the entire BOV.1 was blaring through the new PA system.
awesome...

Apparently, they also played "Too Young To Fall In Love" and "Looks That Kill" by Motley Crue.

Much of that is Piazza's influence. I told you guys before, I heard him say once in an interview that he is a big VH fan and also a fan of rock and roll/ heavy metal in general.
I heard a story in which he was driving his truck (I'm sure it's one of those souped up sweet looking trucks and not the redneck variety) Anyway, he was driving and he had picked up one of his teammates and they were heading to practice. Piazza said he had a Van Halen tape BLARING in the truck and his teammate grumbled that he wanted to play some new hip hop song. Piazza responded "Not in MY truck, with that noise!"
LOL...Gotta love Piazza !
Supposedly this is a true story!!!

Well Putzo, I mean Piazza played here I don't recall in any of his 5 years a single Van Halen song being played at Dodger Stadium. So it ain't him.

Well that's just what I heard anyway.....But then I also heard that David Lee Roth is back in Van Halen, but I can't confirm that with certainty either
Maybe Piazza got into VH recently....?

Yeah, I recall seeing Piazza interviewed several years ago in one of those pre-game interviews they show on tape that was done on an off day. I don't remember VH being mentioned, but Piazza was banging on the drums at one point and I do remember him mentioning both AC/DC and Metallica.

Let's put it this way, even if I am incorrect about Mike liking VH, at the very least we can pretty much confirm that he DOES enjoy some good 'ol Rock And Roll....(AC DC, Metallica)...And ya GOTTA respect the guy for that!!!
Though I still maintain that I saw somewhere where Piazza mentioned Van Halen.....
ah well....maybe my mind is gone. I think perhaps the cat from one of the other threads took it.
I still blame the cat. (Right Glenn?)
