How much of his tonuge did Eddie lose in his fight with cancer? I don't think Eddie has been recorded speaking since his surgery. Maybe EVH can not speak to us.

Has anyone heard him speak in the last few years?
what was dat?

I spoke with him a year ago at the L.A.P.D. Celebrity Golf Tournament. He sounded the same as he alway has.

what was that, silent? </font>
Well, he's no David Lee Roth.

When there was a mob around, he told everybody he would fulfill all autograph requests when he was finished playing golf. When there wasn't a mob around, he was much more accomodating.

One funny thing, on the last tee, while he was about to hit his drive, he turned to the crowd and asked for somebody to say something (to break the silence), because he needed to "break wind." Then he fanned his hand behind his butt.

He talked to reporters at the premier of America's Sweethearts. Wouldn't it be awful, though, if because of his insistence or whatever you want to call it, he didn't stop smoking and ended up with throat cancer and on one of those voice boxes?
Could this be magic?

That would suck, but it would be the result of his own doing. However, the silver lining in that cloud is that you would never be subjected to "How Many Say I" again.

Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

...It's the BAND and Dave is really the cat that can front VH. He sang his ASS off and was really cool. No cheese here guys, this is filet Mignon! - Steve Lukather's comment after witnessing a Van HALEN 2007 rehearsal

Well, how fitting. What a perfect way to symbolize exactly how he's treated the fans the past 3 1/2 years. Way to illustrate, Ed.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

Joe, Bro
You should have recorded it, looped it a couple of times and sold it as a bootleg

You could call it "Eddie's FARTest riffs??"
