Recently I have been dating a girl I met on New Year's Eve night. Her name is Andra and she and I have been hitting it off great! She is a few years older than me (30) got her own place near where I live, is smart, funny, sexy, and a great kisser.

Anyway, the other night we were driving back from a skating rink we were at. We were in my car and as we were driving I decided to push the tape I had in the deck into the player. Before doing so I say to her: "This is a band I really, really like, see if you can guess who it is." With that I put the tape in.

Now as you can all guess perhaps: the tape was a Van Halen Mix Tape. It was in the middle of the song "Take Your Whiskey Home" A song rarely known by anyone outside of hardcore VH Fan Status (I've never heard it on the radio before)......She listened for maybe 10 seconds, then looked at me with a smile and said: "Van Halen, right?".....


I think I may have to marry this girl!


It was very cool!


Just thought I would share this story with you all, to show that Van Halen is not completely forgotten. Damn this is the FIRST girl I ever dated that could pick out VH (and like 'em too!)

Nah, the girl in the "Show Us Your Pics" thread picture of me, is a previous girlfriend that recently became an ex-girlfriend. We're still friends, so it wasn't a bad split....But part of the problem was, she was a Clash fan and just couldn't get into my Van Halen! ....


Honestly, I had to share this recent situation with you all, cause I was so beside myself by it all. I have never dated a woman who could pick out Van Halen (especially obscure Van Halen) just like THAT. Most women I have dated in my life, tolerate my VH obsession, but don't really care for them.....THIS GIRL is something special!...

Yeah, let me tell you guys, this girl is a real find! I am still impressed that she picked out "Take Your Whisky Home" as Van Halen. If the song in question was "Panama" or "Jump" it would not have been nearly as impressive!
