Fuck the Van Halen brothers. They're dead.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne
"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello
"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

Complete and utter bullshit.
It was made very obvious this morning that the Lying Dutchmen have absolutely nothing to offer a major record label. If they contacted Sony at all, which I seriously doubt, it would have been the label which turned them down.Eat Us And Smile
Welcome back, Van HALEN!!!!

Imagine a new Van Halen album with some 15 songs featuring BOTH Dave and Sam?
I'm not sure how the logistics of a tour would go, but its interesting to ponder nonetheless.

andrew at melodicrock told me they were approached by sony but ed and al do not want to do it. u make no sense at all. you've said many times before a big named label would sign them if dave was back. why would sony say no to them with a reunion album/tour with both singers, when it was their idea?
jeez man, lighten up.
they should call this tour the dave hagar tour just for you. you can say you coined the name for this tour like you coined van hagar as well

...kinda interesting that Portrait head honcho John Kalodner was at the press conference today. Portrait is under the Sony umbrella. Homeboy John helped Aerosmith's comeback. Homeboy John can sniff out a goldmine in the industry like Nugent can sniff out wild bore at 40 paces....

Pure Vulcan logic.
u get to be more of a pompous ass every passing day here. you're pissed at the fact dave is touring with sam, get over it.
Pissed? Not at all. However, I'll admit to it still seeming like something out of a parallel universe.
andrew at melodicrock told me they were approached by sony but ed and al do not want to do it.
Andrew also said that David Covercheeseball was Van Halen's singer and that Slash was recording with Sammy.

Sony, a label that not 3 months ago dropped a band that once sold several multiplatinum albums for them (Journey) isn't about to sign a "band" that currently consists of two brothers, one of whom is sicking lawyers on anyone who uses the colors red and white (Coca Cola, you have been warned!) and the other who hasn't been seen in 3 years. Maybe if all 4 members of Van HALEN showed a commitment to each other and to a future, that would be different. And regardless of what may transpire between Dave & Sammy on the road this summer, I don't see SONY being enthusiastic about a band with 2 lead singers. Hell, they apparently didn't even like Journey under those conditions.
jeez man, lighten up.
they should call this tour the dave hagar tour just for you. you can say you coined the name for this tour like you coined van hagar as well

cut the vulcan logic crap bro.
as far as you can tell, sony would not be interested in a band with 2 singers but i do not think they were thinking of it that way.
they know a cash cow when they see one dude. they're probably looking at it asa monster tour and the album to build up hype and create massive curiosity.
i'm just passing on what i was told, just like andrew passes on what he is told. it doesn't make me a bad person nor does it andrew. he's a cool guy and does his best. i find it to be very damn cool that he does what he does and tries his best at it. he's never led anyone astray on purpose and i for one enjoy speaking with him
i wish vh would do an album with both and a tour with both.
think about it man...an album with 14, 15 or 16 songs, some sam, some dave; then a 3 hour 4 nights a week for a year or show. now THAT would kick some major ass, regardless of sheep, lawyers, mulletts, cheese, or whatever else you wanna throw into the equation

well a VH/Dave/Sammy tour will draw just as much as a VH/Dave tour would.
but a VH/Sammy tour wouldn't draw as much.
because, no matter how either of their careers have been without each other, the draw is STILL VH/RothEat Us and Smile!
