Our radio station here in the bay area is having a march madness of classic rock. It's down to the final four, and here are the matchups: Pink Floyd vs. Led Zepplin and Aerosmith vs. VAN HALEN!!! The mighty Vh should be a shoe-in vs. Aerosmith! The voting is done on the web, so if people from the links would go to the website and show their support, the boys should be a sure thing. The address is www.1077thebone.com. You need to register to vote, but hopefully it's no big thing for you people. I really wanna see our guys from Pasadena take this thing. Good luck to VH!! Hmm ... Van Halen vs. Aerosmith, that's a tough one. Ah what the hell, I guess I'll go with Van Halen.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"There is no heir to the throne of Eddie Van Halen. Nobody sits on that throne. Nobody takes that throne. Here's why it's different with Eddie: when a great guitar player passes, you just move on to another, right? But in this case, Eddie wasn't just a 'guitar player'. We're talking about a guy who changed culture and how we play guitar. He was like an alien coming in and fucking everything up so much that even the legends beforehand are like, 'Okay .. what is happening here? What sorcery is this?'" -Nuno Bettencourt

NO contest , Aeroshyte are a bunch of second rate sub-rolling stone poseurs whilst VH were & still are - unique...

Led Zep vs VH , though... tough one...!

maybe robert plant could be vh's new LS?

'Led Zep-UK , VH-US. best of both worlds'

Somehow I never associated LedZep as being a UK band. Well, I guess you're right, technically. Who gives a shit really.

No matter how you slice it, LedZep made a lot of great music in just a few years. You can't argue with that.

    Well, to recap the finals:

VH did make it to the championship, but lost a valiant battle to the overlords of rock, Led Zeppelin. Can't say as I blame the voters.....Led Zep would probably still be together today if Bonzo was still around.....
Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...

DLR: It was like a stand off in a Chuck Norris movie. We each had the laser dot on everybody's forehead waiting for the other guy to blink. Except for Wolfie, he had a Super Soaker ...
