Who would play Scrooge, Cratchitt, The Ghosts, Tiny Tim, etc?

What? I'm bored.....and a little toasty.

BTW....

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!
Q: Recording the album took so long your Australian tour last year was cancelled. What was it like in the studio? There's a history of tension between you and Eddie Van Halen...

Scrooge - Ray Daniels....thanks for fucking everything up

Cratchitt - Eddie
Tiny Tim - Alex
The Three Ghosts....(in no particular order) Dave, Sammy, & Gary

Don't know where to fit MA, maybe he could be the ghost that visits Scrooge & tells him he's going to be visited by the 3 ghosts. Here's a good twist though, Scrooge wakes up in the morning and tries to forgive everybody for what he did in the past, but they, =VH=, takes that turkey he tries to give to Cratchitt Christmas morning & shoves it up his ass!!!

Now that would be a good twist to the original Christmas Carol

Merry Christmas to you Hecubus

"On the first day of Christmas, Van Halen gave to me...
NOTHING, because there is no Van Halen"

Sorry, had to do it.
Even though what's left of VH could give two shits about us fans, I care enough to say "Merry Christmas!!" to all you dedicated, hardcore MF'ers who come here as often as I do wishing, and hoping SOMETHING would happen. Dare I say VH in 2003?!?

I was actually planning on writing a short piece
A Van Halen Christmas Carol

Edward is the obvious choice for Scrooge.

Edward is isolated and alone in his house and studio. He is estranged from his wife, former bandmates and fans. He is bitter about many things, particularly III's sales and the fans constant nagging.

Alex and Michael stop over Christmas eve. Both in the form of Scrooge’s nephew. Cheerful, with a good Christmas spirit and both ready to start VH anew. Edward will have none of it. Instead of “Bah. Humbug!” Edward says dismissingly “Ah. Fuck it!” Rebuffed, Alex and Edward leave Edward alone in his house.
Later Edward retires to his studio. He’s fiddling with his guitar and suddenly his guitar is muted and another guitarist’s plucking emanate from the amplifier . Mystified Edward looks up to see the ghostly figure of…( The character of Marley is tough, but I think a good fit would be some talented musician who failed to reconcile with former bandmates, who grew to despise the fans that wanted it, and who died. I need a Marley figure here, George Harrison? John Lennon? Not good fits but close).
This ghost warns Edward about what he’s doing (or not doing)> From Dickens;
“"It is required of every man," the Ghost returned, "that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellowmen, and travel far and wide; and if that spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death. It is doomed to wander through the world -- oh, woe is me! -- and witness what it cannot share, but might have shared on earth, and turned to happiness!"
Again the spectre raised a cry, and shook its chain and wrung its shadowy hands.
"You are fettered," said [Edward], trembling. "Tell me why?"
"I wear the chain I forged in life," replied the Ghost. "I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it. “
end Dickens quote.
The ghost tells Edward he’ll be haunted by Three Spirits. He leaves. Edward glances the Colt 45 six pack he baought and encased as a reminder not to drink. Dust laden, he realizes that alcohol is not the cause of this, yet, it cannot be real.
“Ah. Fuck it!”
The Ghost of Christmas past visits him later. From Dickens;
“He then made bold to inquire what business brought him there.
"Your welfare," said the Ghost.
Edward expressed himself much obliged, but could not help thinking that a night of unbroken rest would have been more conducive to that end. The Spirit must have heard him thinking, for it said immediately:
"Your reclamation, then. Take heed."
End Dickens.
To summarize, the story goes thusly
The Ghost of Christmas past takes Edward back to his childhood, early teens, and early days in the clubs and first few albums. He observes a joyous musician full of fun and life. He then sees the breakups, the failed reunions, the lost opportunities.
When the Ghost of Christmas present visits him. He is taken to see the boisterous fun and joy of a Van Halen tribute band who is playing that night, then to two more concerts going on that night of Hagar and Roth respectively where the spirit is the same. He is then taken to a dinner Alex and Michael share where they discuss the apathy that has gripped Edward.
The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come shows Edward the rest of a wasted life with bitter fans, a mocking press and former bandmates relegated to small venues and declining finances. Finally it shows many tapes reels and CDs in a vault, never to be heard because of legal wranglings and the eventual passing of Edward. As the ghost shows him his tombstone that is visited by aged fans with shaking heads….
“"Spirit!" he cried, tight clutching at its robe, "hear me. I am not the man I was. I will not be the man I must have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past all hope?"
For the first time the hand appeared to shake.
"Good Spirit," he pursued, as down upon the ground he fell before it: "Your nature intercedes for me, and pities me. Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me, by an altered life."
The kind hand trembled.
"I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!"

Edward appears as a surprise guest at Van Halen tribute bands and with Sammy and DLR at their shows. Tours with all former members are made, new material is released and the fans are valued and appreciated by a man with thankfulness in his heart for such a blessing bestowed upon him.

Merry Christmas Edward!

It's not a christmas carol, but the nursery rhyme "Three Blind Mice" seems to fit nicely with the current band situation...
