Odds And Ends

Just a few minor items that I have come across in the last 48 hours.

I was on a job interview in San Jose on Friday. While in line at the airport on the way back to LAX, I began a conversation with the very good looking lady in front of me who informed me that she was a 'clinical specialist' in the cosmetic surgery field, namely hair transplantation. I asked her if she ever had David Lee Roth of Van Halen as a client, and she said "No, but I have had two other members of Van Halen in." When I asked her who they were, she said Michael Anthony and Alex Van Halen. According to her, Michael was very pleasant and grounded, consistent with other accounts of Mikey that we have heard, and Alex "really liked his drugs." I guess they hit them up with some form of anethesia when they perform the transplantation procedure, and Alex wanted to know if he could take some of these drugs home with him.

Tonight, I was at Peppers in Arcadia, one of Michael Anthony's hangouts (See INSIDE magazine) and asked Rudy, the bartender, if Mikey had made an appearance lately. He said there was some type of video/photo shoot there in the patio of Peppers with Michael Anthony recently and that Van Halen was working on an album or video, but he didn't think it included David Lee Roth (this is just what he said, but I could tell he wasn't sure).

Bottom line, Michael Anthony and unidentified members of Van Halen were at Peppers in Arcadia, California for a shoot in support of a new album or video.

Things are happening, new Van Halen music is on its way, not sure if March is the release date as we are expecting and 'a fan' has clued at in his post back in November, but I believe it is safe to say that it will be sometime in 2001, but hopefully in the 1st quarter.

I don't think the annnouncement/news/music will come on the Grammy's or any other award show, but rather on the radio when we least expect it as has been Van Halen's history.

Let us hope that it is sooner rather than later.

I went to the official Van Halen site and saw the photos you are talking about!

I was just chatting with the lady with the leopard skin top tonight, althought I didn't bring up the subject of Van Halen up with her.

She is the daughter of the owner/manager of Pepper's I am told.

There is a signed copy of the 1984 gold record signed by Michael Anthony at Pepper's in which he says that this is his favorite Mexican restaurant.

I live about a mile away from this place.

I will go back to Peppers tomorrow evening and see what info I can get from the "leopard skin lady."

Good clue.
