Song-wise: Beach Boys 100%
DLR's video kicks ass for one reason: the women he has in the videoRock the Red!!!
"Give Doc the shotgun. They're less apt to get nervy if he's on the street howitzer."
"Dying ain't much of a living, boy."

Dave's definately. The song is fun the way he does it and it actually got me to listen to The Beach Boys. If it were not for his cover I probably never would have bought "Pet Sounds". Now that is one of my favorie albums.

The song is cool but I never really liked or disliked it until Dave did it. I love his version. I guess it's not really about the song so much as it is Dave doing it. I think it;s the video I liked the most. It was just way cool seeing the "ONCE HIP" DLR doing such a song and video. Dave in the MIDWEST... YUMMY Gotta love him rubbing that furry tummy of his. Oh! and in the wet suit! SWEET! He just needed to STOP after that and go back to VH. I really think the solo/comedy thing ruined DLR!
VHWalkathon - Project 316

EVH: The music is first and foremost. That's the way it's always been and that's the way it will always be. Because without the music, what is there? Nothing. There's nothing without the music. You can't even cop an attitude without the music (laughs).

I love 'em both, but I'll have to go with Beach Boys by a hair. Both so good though.

Dave's version SMOKES!
The man did have style. And his choices of which songs to cover - solo and with VH - were pretty great with only a few exceptions (You're No Good, DTNA).
Dave's California Girls intro is silimar to some Aerosmith song. And every time I hear the AS song start out, I hope against hope that it's Dave's CG. Maybe one day.
