Dave solo on the radio

How often do you hear Dave solo on the radio? I hardly ever hear his solo stuff. If I do hear any of his songs its always California Girls and Just a Gigolo. At least you would think you could hear Yankee Rose on the radio. As for the DLR band I have only heard Slam Dunk once on the radio when it was brand new. Actually that was the last time I heard DLR on the radio. This is not as an bash to Dave Im just stating my opinion on this subject. By the way I hardly ever listen to the radio anymore anyway. Tell me what you guys think.

I live in Jersey, and one of our stations, 105.5 WDHA plays old and new rock. when dave released the DLR Band cd, i do remember hearing "Going Places", and thinking "damn, daves album sounds pretty good." i memorized the chorus and sang it to my cousin, who had the cd and played the song.as to why they dont play his solo stuff, its probably cuz his earlier work is just a little bit more popular

Its called buying all the cd's. At this point the radio doesnt play any of the music I listen to. Thats my reason for not listening to the radio anymore.

Just like solo Sammy stuff, Dave without Van Halen is pretty average.

This is just my view of the whole thing. I hear Sammy's solo stuff way, way, way more than I hear Dave's. Do not get me wrong I love DLR w/VH it is better than those other two guys. Though I do love all VH. It is just that solo Sammy is played more. I do not know why, Dave is great. Sammy has been around a long time. I think he just rolls with the changes a little better than Dave. Just my opinion. Peace!

I hear Dave on the radio occasionally. I'll hear Just Like Paradise and Cali Girls. And if I'm lucky Just a Gigolo. But I usually have to request them.

Once in a great while, I'll hear "Yankee Rose". "Slam Dunk" I heard a little bit. Definitely hear more Sammy solo stuff than Dave solo. And definitely hear more Van Roth than Van Hagar. And no Extreme, except on the Top 40 station which plays "More Than Words" once in a while

There's no great mystery here.

In most cases, there's more solo Hagar than solo Roth on the radio.

But there is more Van HALEN than Van Hagar.

So what does that mean?

Dave belongs in Van HALEN and Sammy is better off on his own.

But we all knew that already

yeah , all i heard was the stuff from dlr band right when it was released. up until about 2 weeks ago when i heard just like paradise. i was amazed, and making sure that i wasn't dreaming. i never thought that i'd hear anything from the solo collection. that's all the solo dave i've heard on the radio. JLP, and stuff from dlr band back in 98. i hear way more solo sam but still not much of that either.
to put things in perspective, my clock radio alarm is set on radio, and i woke up to panama this morning.
