Does anyone else think it is strange that DLR released this single while he is rumored to be working with VH. I guess it came out a few months ago but this whole reunion thing has been going on for awhile. I bring this up because in the article about the reunion at CDnow.com they mentioned that whe nthings would get rocky between DLR and EVH Dave would always threaten him with, "Well I'll just go work on my solo stuff." They said Dave would go into the studio and do time in there with his own material in spite of Eddie. Given LAATPHT isn't a great song at all and it is just Dave repeating the same thing over and over put to a techno dance beat maybe it was the result of what this article is talking about. Picture it, Eddie and Dave get into an argument so Dave says he is going to write his own shit, he goes into the studio and lays down a few lyrics and mixes it and a few days later its on the internet. I know its a long shot but you have to wonder.

Man, if Look At All the People Here Tonight is the best thing Dave could throw together, he better be polishing Eddie's shoes.

Maybe we're just looking at it wrong. Maybe when things get tense, Dave says to the guys "I'm gonna go work on solo stuff", then they all fall about laughing and forget their problems.

Have you ever like got in a fight with someone over something and said, "Fuck you man I'll do it myself" but then realize that it is going to be harder than you thought? This is what I think Dave might have done, he got all pissed off and said he was going to do his own thing if they weren't going to get the show on the road ad then found out, "Shit I ain't got much to work with here." but being who he is he isn't going to crawl back on his knees so he just throws together some piece of shit like LAATPHT and says, "Here you go, you didn't want to work so I did this!" and ofcourse it sucked and Ed and the boys laughed then Dave realized that the whole thing was just damn dumb!

Well, he had to have at least given it the go ahead. Otherwise (given his lawsuit against VH Store) he probably would have sued TK for using his likeness and comments without permission and passing them off as something he himself had done or given permission to do.

So he had at least SOMETHING to do with it.

I personally think Dave might have been messing around with various equipment and made it himself.

I thought it was pretty cool for what it was. Not so much the song itself, but when combined with the pictures, it was kind of neat...a box of memories set to music.

Of course, the way it was promoted as a brand new single destroyed credibility.

But maybe it was done to see how much interest radio stations would have...in that case (according to TK) it worked...a huge amount of downloads from radio stations everywhere. Although I'm sure many opted not to play it once they heard it...

Dave probably doesn't even KNOW about that song. If any of you collect bootleg concerts you would know that what you hear is a "sample" of dave from an old concert put to techno music. Anyone with "Acid" or "eJay" *or some program like that* can do it at home in the time it takes for their tostino's pizza rolls to cook in the microwave. Honest.

I don't think Dave even has anything to DO with his "official site".

I have a red mark now on my fore-head from the constant "oh my god" gestures after reading some of these things. But hey, I'm just a Van Halen fan over 25 years old...what do I know! 3;&gt;

That's exactly my point...he could have just been screwing around one night and made it. I'm sure Dave has access to bootlegs also.

Maybe not on a regular basis, but he must be involved in some aspects...look at all of his artwork posted there.
