This is almost impossible to decide, VH1 started it all, but the guitar sound on FW is better, VH1 was ground breaking for Ed, but his best solo (Push Comes To Shove) is on FW.....Fuck, I am saying draw.

Van Halen 1 is a much stronger album overall.

If FW didnt have 2 filler tracks at the end it would have won.

Point taken, but it can be argued that "Ice Cream Man" and "You Really Got Me" are filler also (even though they both rock).

    My pick: Fair Warning!

I agree with the overrated Fair Warning, but that's just because I like the other albums so much more. Not a knock against it really. I'm going with VH1

VH1 is the greatest album in general IMO but Fair Warning is just so heavy and I listen to it more than VH1. If I were to introduce someone to VH I would have them listen to VH1, but i gotta go with FW!

VH1 is the best, Fair Warning is my favorite.

If that makes any sense at all.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Fair warning does indeed kick ass, but i never listen to the 2 tracks at the end, so i'd say =VH= 1 , i can listen to that album all the way through all day. Plus eruption is on it

VH1 has better songs. It also had the advantage of having tons of songs written over a few years to choose from. FW is just a little too short, could have used 1-2 more songs.

In no way is Fair Warning overrated.

Since the first album for me is the holy grail of all that is VH, I will give it to the first album, followed closely by Fair Warning. But I have to ask, what about Women and Children First??????
