This is from the Blabbermouth.net website this morning:
VAN HALEN Box Set To Surface Next Year? - Sep. 27, 2002

KLOS 95.5 is reporting that VAN HALEN will have a box set out next year with archived tracks on it. No official word has yet come down on the matter.

Over on the VH group on Yahoo yesterday... Brad shot this down as "Completely untrue".

Probably best not to go gettin your hopes up at this stage of the ongoing saga...

since it is not happening, no sense in it anyway! If they ever (Ed and Al) listened to the archived stuff they would get off of their asses and start with either Dave or Sam.

Brad maintains the "Official" band website, right? But would he really know what is going on with VH in the first place? I have heard a lot of degarding things about the dude... So I am just curious if he truly is an authority on the band. Any one? [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

Brads an alright guy. He is in a tough spot IMHO. He is also a fan, keep that in mind!

It's my understanding that Brad is in touch with ED, Al, & Mike frequently. He gets a lot of requests from the media for information and confirmation requests of the wild assed shit that people perport as fact.

With no management, label, publicist, etc... the only public portal to the band is either through Brad or the band's lawyer as far as I know.

As long as their web site is deemed an official source of information I would assume the Mushroom has information or can gain it as necessary.

It's unfortunate that the most recent information available is confirmation on what's not happening... but it's my hopes some day that trend will turn around. That and the damn Stock Market too!!!!

Brad also said before the Sammy and Dave tour that there was no truth to Mike playing with Sammy ever. He doesn't know what's gonna happen.

I don't want to knock the guy... But I was kind of curious about what he would be privy to. Thanks for all the info. I am officially back at square one
