First round of the BayHill Invitational got drowned out by rain...got to see highlights from the 2001 version, plus many commercials.

Hopefully, conditions will change for the better over the weekend.

Thank you USA channel, for not showing a leaderboard, let alone let us know who is attending.

Guess I have to go to the clunky PGA site...this will take a while.

Way to go, Kenny Perry...anyone but ViJay! The prick is number one again...whatever, bring on the TPC and the 17th hole!

Actually got out to the driving range Saturday. My muscles are screaming now. Did NOT stretch out well enough at all.

I just can't stop the fucking clubface from shutting consistently. I'll hit a couple of beatiful shots dead straight, then snap the shit out of the next few. Great contact, excellent trajectory, it's just a closed clubface - starts out at the target and sweeps right off it. I need to find a pro who knows what's up. It's taking the fun out of the game for me.

Yup...age wise, I've got nine years on you, and I get hurt while sleeping!

I positively would recommend some lessons, as you are at a great point in life to profit by some outside advice.

My dad used to tutor me, yet I don't have him anymore.

Let me say getting advice from the guys you play with can be helpful, yet an outside voice is the way to go, as you are paying that person to help you, one who can truly focus on issues with no regard to personal feelings.

    Good luck, brother!

Oh, I've had lessons. Plenty. Took lessons when I first picked up a club to avoid bad habits. Unfortunately, I've had enough lessons to also realize that you have to find the "right" professional - the wrong one can screw you up worse.

So true...you know, it's much the same with guitar teachers as well.
TopTimi was recently telling me how his neice was getting axe lessons from a rip-off artist who was simply stringing her along, racking up money week by week.

I dunno...is there some sort of certification shingle that endorses quality?
    Like "ASE" for auto mechanics?

Actually, there is. Seen probably knows best, but to get PGA certified you have to at least pass a playing test, I'm not sure about a written test. I also don't know if they have any teaching type requirements in there. Obviously, not all good players can teach, but at least there is a system to prevent a hack like me from hanging out a shingle. Well, I can hang one out, but I can't say I'm a PGA member, which is what you want from a pro.

I'm not even talking about hacks. I've seen very good pros that just weren't in synch with what I'm trying to do.

Thanks, I honestly didn't know that!

I go back to the "buyer beware" attitude, and as I stated, it is not that far removed from many "guidance applied" services out there, be it a mechanic, contractor, electrician, dentist ( ), ect.

Best of luck with finding the right person for this, and that is not sarcasm, that is a hard core good wish.

WOW! ESPN is featuring 6 and 1/2 hours of coverage from the TPC, it started at 11:30am (EST).
Steve Jones is in the lead at -7, Phil is -4 (noon).

Tiger has never shot an opening round in the 60's here, and is staying true to that nature: -2 at 10.

Got beer, chili dogs and this ...cool way to spend an afternoon!

After 5 rainy days, Fred Funk wins it!

    What a disaster, tv-wise.

Talk of moving the TPC to May...yeah, that should help, rain-wise.

Hold on, Pert...as of this post (2:26pm, est) it's raining like hell at Augusta.
The field has been split in half, starting on the front and back nine !
More rain scheduled for around 4pm, when USA Network starts broadcasting.

And tomorrow doesn't look much better...shit, 9 of 15 events this year have been affected by crappy weather.

I'm going with Phil coming off that astounding 5-man playoff on Monday. Yet don't be surprised if someone other than the Fab Four (Tiger, Phil, Ells and Singh) comes out on top.

    We'll see...

the fact that phil won last week is phenomanal in my book..absolutley phenominal...two yrs ago, that would've NEVER happened by Phil...the man has talent and then some..i think he has more talent than tiger, but not mental strongness to match..noone has the mental toughness of tieger and that is his intangible.
When he gets the putting gooing along as well, he cannot be beat..unless the driver fails...but then, how bad is the rough when you are looking at PW on a long par 4 for your second shot when you drive into the rough??
Vj said the same thing a few weeks ago.."who cares if im offline on my drive and into the rough..it's still only a PW..."

This thing is such a mess even the Golf Channel is having trouble...guys are still teeing off at 3:30 PM !

After six on the back nine, David Duvall is in the lead at -2.

USA's coverage starts in 15 minutes, we'll see if they can make any sense of it, and forget PGATour.com, it's even worse.
