What a great friggin' guitar riff …

Black and Blue is an album I find disjointed. The songs don’t have any common musical theme. I know they were auditioning and recording with several different replacements for Mick Taylor. 8 songs and 3 are unfinished (Getting to know you) jams.

Looking forward to the expanded edition of Goats that is rumored to be released this Fall.
I agree. Sometimes the deep stuff is better than the hits.

Yeah, Black and Blue does have that kind of a feel to it. With Billy Preston touring with them they were in a funk phase. At the same time experimenting with reggae. It is all over the place.

No doubt. Can't wait for some GHS expansion.
Another record that didn't get much love upon release. One of my favorites, though.

GOAT's head soup is such a killer Stones album, always was drawn to it

Star Star, Heartbreaker, Dancing with Mr. D, Winter, Angie...

PO-LICE in New York City, they chased a boy right through the park...

And this tune has such a sinister riff, and Jagger is amazing all over this album.

“Heartbreaker” is so badass it should be illegal. One of the greatest intros ever.

I read that Keith played almost everything on this album, as Jones was
on his way out & Mick Taylor was just arriving.

"Let it Bleed" is my favorite album of all time, with "Physical Graffiti" a close second.
    WACF a close third.

But i think Beggar's Banquet through Some Girls, is just an incredible run of albums.
I'll add Tattoo You, as well, though that was more reworked, unused tracks from other sessions.

I'll even add the compilation, Through the past darkly, which had Jumpin' Jack Flash
    and HT women.

With those two songs, even though it was like '68, the Stones turned that corner
and became my beloved 70's Stones.
