It's interesting how these English bands adopted Reggae & Ska, into their New
    Wave/Post Punk sound.

    Madness did it well, too.
    The Police, of course.

Then you have the Nile Rodgers funk thing, adopted by bands like The Smiths, Gang of Four,
    and The Fixx.

It's such a strange hybrid, but it works.

How did Johnny Marr, this punk kid in England, decide:
I really like this American band, Chic.
Graver, Walking Ed, refugee from CVH & proud tone chaser...

It really is when you think about it. I could see some success here there but to take it that far with constant success....pretty incredible. Never woulda guessed it coulda worked that well.

From the Rock and Roll Circus show. I’d never heard this before.

Nobody has till a few days ago.
They gave their fans something from the vault again. Unlike that other band that does nothing.

Ruby Tuesday wasn't in the film... sounds like rehearsal. And a rough one at that.

Not totally surprising. I've known fans that didn't feel the deep stuff. Torn and Frayed, Shine a Light, Loving Cup, Sweet Virginia...Crazy as that may be for some fans to hear.

LOL. I was the exact opposite. I just loved that Muscle Shoals, Gospel vibe they had going from '69-'74. I hear that Stax vibe which I love. A masterpiece of soul is Exile on Main Street.

I suppose I may be bias, though. From Beggars to Undercover I loved them immediately.

I"m the same way as I liked the "hits" immediately, but the rest of it I've been kind of "blah" over the years. But since it's been on my iPod and the songs come up in shuffle, it has grown on me. Maybe not to the extent of some people who hail it, but I like it a lot more than I used to.

And sometimes a good drive will just bring an album into focus!

    I know what you mean.

The deep cuts are treasures! Especially on Exile.

Black and Blue is an album I find disjointed. The songs dont have any common musical theme. I know they were auditioning and recording with several different replacements for Mick Taylor. 8 songs and 3 are unfinished (Getting to know you) jams.

Looking forward to the expanded edition of Goats that is rumored to be released this Fall.
