VH on Road Rules ('95) Friday night

An episode from MTV's Road Rules series from 1995 featuring Van Halen in an episode where the gang opens up for them is on Friday night at 12:30am on WB.

Just thought I'd let you guys know if you've never seen it or haven't seen it since it first aired. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yeah that was a cool episode. The gang of Road Rules got to be roadies for a day. I remember one of the guys got to stand center stage with one of Eddie's guitars cranked up. I'll have to set my VCR for that one though, an almost 3 year old dictates how early I go to bed these days.

Hmm..

Tivo doesn't show any Road Rules tonight. Not til tomorrow (Sat) at 5pm. Upcoming episodes don't have any VH mention either, but cable channels rarely give accurate if any description.

My guess is it's just your local affiliate showing it.

I've seen it, but wanted to Tivo it anyway to save.. Oh well.

WB is showing the episodes from the first season of Road Rules Mon-Fri at 12:30, and I've been following it for about a week now. Hope it's going to be on for everybody else.

It's a great show of the boys displaying the love they had for their fans, although some of those clowns had no idea who VH was.

Wish we could say that now

Display of love or shameless and dumb PR stunt that Ray Daniels had convinced them may help to prove them releveant during their decline in to paranoia and self-deprecation?

Yeah, it just isn't on like that in Seattle. It's apparantly only on WB on weekends. Next episode is called "Northern Trail".

If I remember correctly, a few of the RR kids kind of laugh VH off as has beens or non-hip artists before they meet them. MO.

Not at all. In fact, it went over big.. I dont recall any of them slagging VH at all. They went nuts when they learned they where gonna roadie for a day, hang with the band and see the VH show!!
Well, watch the episode, tape it, whatever.. you'll see...
all the kids where stoked as hell..

Hmmm?</font>[/QUOTE]Danniels was the devil, but I don't see how this harmed VH at all. It was one of the few ways to get VH on MTV at a time when the station had all but stopped playing them.

I also seem to remember that freak who won the "I want to be a MTV VJ" contest, Jesse getting to jam with VH at a sound check. What a fucking waste of skin that guy was. How much you want to bet he was in some bar last night trying to pick up some girl by saying something like "I used to be on MTV" I hate very few people but if that guy on fire, I wouldn't even cross the street to piss on him.

One other thing... I remember when it first aired thinking something was up with Van Halen. The reason?

Al and Ed arrive in one limo; Mike and Sammy in the other. I just remember thinking, "hmm, doesn't look like Ed and Sam are "best friends" anymore".

I noticed that too. Also on the Head Bangers Ball espisode (95) when Sam and Ed are talking to that british woman in Amsterdamn....I noticed that it really didn't seem they were laughing or enjoying each others company all too much, as they did in the past.
I had a feeling then in 95 that soon there would be changes in VH.

VH seemed happy and having fun when they met the RR group. Mike met them first, and all of them said he was a really cool, nice guy. Then at the end one of the girls said "They're just the happiest band." Too bad things got worse after the tour.
