concert intro screamin guy!

man! for 20 years this one guy has been doin van halens trademark intro! well hello (insert city name here) are u ready to rock! please welcome the mighty etc etc......
now hes been doin it since 78. i know because u can hear him on boots and stuff. who the hell is this guy! i always thought it was dave but when gary was on tour it wasthe same dude! im not sure if he did it when sammy was in the band but he did it during the dave and gary era. anyone know who it is?

In Nashville '98 it was some bald guy.....one of the roadies, the same guy was checking all of the vocal mics.

I don't remember this guy at any of the Sammy shows. I've heard him on different boots, but don't remember him at the shows I seen. I might have been too jazzed to notice though...

too bad they dropped it with sammy
it has to be someone in the crew to be doing it that long

they definitely have to have that guy when they tour again.
on a semi-related topic, one of the dj's on a radio station here always yells out,
"VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAN HAAAAAAALEN" whenever a he plays a vh tune, with a pretty long intro, usually panama.

i always dig it when he does that.

I did see on Brad's site earlier today that Rudy left in 1985 and came back - I forget when, but if it was Rudy Lieren doing the intro, that would explain why you didn't hear it during the Sammy years.
