This was posted over at the VH1 forums from the admin over there. I have looked over the boards here and I didn't see this posted yet, sorry if it was.

Van Halen have asked VH1 to point out that the various rumous and stories on this board are 100% false.

Basically what VH1 is saying is, Ed threatened to kick them in the nuts and that he and Al continue to jam in 5150 but knowone will ever hear it except them and the rest of the dust bunnys. So fuck off and leave us alone.

so i guess this is an "official" statement from the band... the one we've been waiting for since the "you'll be hearing from us soon" statement... kinda' anti-climactic if you ask me... so EVERY rumor is 100% false... time to get more inventive with our speculation i guess...

the only postive news in that is-"nothing long term" so maybe they are planning a short term reunion with a former member... that would be enough to shut me up for ever- i swear!

Wait a minute, what the hell is this? No long term plans at present? I thought "it was time to get back to the music and fun" Ed. Now we hear that there's nothing planned. What do they expect? They say nothing about anything to their fans, people are going to speculate, its our nature and its our right. If VH doesn't like it how about saying somehting to their fans from time to time. I am one that doesn't feel that really owe us anything but if they are going to bitch at sites about what is being said about them then they should say something to their fans or shut the hell up about it.

Here we all are, =VH= fans all as one (even though we differ on our opinions sometimes) & they fucking acknowledge VHI.

No long term plans?

The possible explinations:
1. Legal issues with Ray D. preventing any VH plans.
2. Eddie is far worse off then we think and wants to live out what time he has left in peace (see George Harrison "I'm fine" comments)

I personally believe that it's 1 but there is a chance on it being #2

Now just wait a damn minute here kids!!!! Some of you are going off on Van Halen as a whole... certainly your right to do so... BUT...

How about keeping this in context of recent known events...?

Rumor was posted at VH1 that Michael Anthony had left Van Halen and written in such a way as to imply it was real/official.

Much chatter ensued here and around the VH related boards and quite possibly in other circles...

Obviously enough noise was generated to motivate a direct response to the rumor from Michael himself on his web site. Pretty rare thing for anyone in VH to respond to a rumor.

So now is it that unclear that possibly the message above was a result of something Michael and/or his attorney or VH's attorney did in a friendly manner is nudge VH1 to cut the crap and manage thier boards to deter this stuff or legal action could follow...?

Which would have nothing directly to do with VH other than the message may have come from VH attornies in a vague form... but really not directly from Ed and/or Al...???

Think about it... before you go assuming too much...
