What do your local radio stations play Van Halen wise? I'm curious regarding the different regions of the country. Here in Salt Lake City they seem to play mostly Roth era on the rock stations. They also play plenty of Hagar's solo material like "Heavy Metal", "I Can't Drive 55", "Little White Lies" and "There's Only One Way To Rock". But, as far as the Hagar era of Van Halen they only seem to play "Why Can't This Be Love", "Dreams", and "Finish What You Started". The only solo Roth that I ever hear is "Just Like Paradise". But as far as the VH catalogue they seem to cover all of the Roth years, I even hear "Romeo Delight" and "Mean Street". I was just curious about everyone else's neck of the woods?

In Arizona they play Dave Era from the First Album and 1984, that's about it.
Sammy Era they play stuff from 5150 and 0U812, that all.
It's pretty even considering.

in detroit there's no question: it's van halen 10 to 1 over van hagar. the solo stuff is closer and, in my opinion, the solo songs they do play for hagar are better than the roth solo stuff they decide on.........i still can't figure out why they don't play 'harder rockin' roth solo stuff - oh well
this city loves stuff like "heavy metal" and "i don't need love"!!!TX7081040

They play a lot from the first six albums and 5150 and OU812. I was suprised one day to hear Runaround and Top Of The World during a VH block. I've also heard them play Right Now.

The shitty stations here in the Virginia Beach area rarely play any VH. Our classic rock station 106.9 had a countdown of the top 500 songs of all time and not one VH song was on the list. Can you believe that? And our other station fm99 plays a couple of VH songs, usually Unchained or Panama, but they are more interested in playing newer groups so VH is rarely played. Needless to say, my cd player is on more than the radio. Glad to hear other areas play VH on the radio.

In Las Vegas , NV . there are about four stations that play Van Halen era music . The usual songs are Runnin' with the devil , Jamie cryin , Jump , Panama , Why can't this be love , Dreams , Finish what you started , Poundcake , Right now , Can't stop loving you . Once in a while they will throw in Ice cream man , Dance the night away , When it's love , Man on a mission , Humans being .

In Dallas, 97.1 plays mostly new bands, but when they do play VH, its usually Roth. 92.5 is classic rock, and they play mostly Roth VH. Then we got a new station, 93.3. They play a lot of VH. They even have a segment called Van Halen Heaven. The Roth/Hagar ratio is closer on 93.3. Maybe 60% Roth, 40% Hagar. Its also cool because they play other songs on the albums, not just the standard singles.

Interesting list. Some are stinkers but others I don't mind. Some of those "songs" are just plain weird!
