the spectrum? damn man! that's a fucking venue bros! not like the stuff dave was playing over the summer!
supposedly there are two other bands opening for them.
doesn't look good.

Ray's site lists the line up as being the same as this summer's. The Spectrum seats about 17,000.
Dave's gonna have to have a monster single out in the next week or so if he's gonna sell this thing out. That, or charge $10 a head.

He's allegedly got Sevendust and Fuel opening for him. I know next to nothing about those two bands besides that they ar touring together Nov/Dec, play some form of numetal and Fuel at least has two platinum albums in recent years and I think Sevendust has gone at least gold.
Throw this into the mix with the Japanese sitar player and you get a severe case of whatthefuckitis. Delusions of eloquence

throw into the mix this and dave's website is in his name now as mike L pointed out in another thread, and u have very little chance of a roth reunion so it seems.

I don't think this date suddenly makes the VH reunion any less likely. If the reunion was possible with Dave playing solo on September 2nd, how is the reunion suddenly impossible because he's playing solo on November 21?
VH aren't going to be releasing a product anyway for many months, so I don't see this date as being indicative of much.

What will be more telling than the show itself is what the show comprises. If Dave still has no new material, than nothing has changed. If Dave plans on selling this show on the strength of new material, than I don't see a reunion anytime soon.
I bet it'll still be the same VH set from this summer, but the reasonably confirmed video shoots and new DLR recordings leave the door open for something different.

ur right glen. it's just indicative of the fact that collectively, the band still has their heads up their ass.

If no one has heard them, they wouldn't go over very well even if they were good.
I agree with your point, but I think it'll be more telling if he adds some of his more known solo work into the show. For example, a song like Just Like Paradise would surely go over well, and other songs that were singles; like Goin' Crazy.
Like you though, I think it'll be the same old VH retread again.

I think he could get a single released in time to matter. It's not unusual for an arena show to be marketed on the strength of one single anymore, which is kinda sad.

yeah, it seems to a random gig for the moment. The other two bands are doing their own tour so other gigs probably won't be with them.
Maybe it's a charity gig?

Those are odd opening bands for Dave. If Dave is playing classic VH, they'd seem to be drawing a very different crowd than Dave would. Does that strike anyone as odd?
To be honest, I don't think Dave should be headlining such a large show with them as openers. It just doesn't seem like a good match. I know I could care less about either of the openers, and most people who care about the openers probably don't care about old VH.
