And I have said I think it is a stupid question several times now, can we move on?

We can, sure. I thought perhaps you didn't really understand the question, since Ziggy for example was able to provide an answer to the hypothetical question.

Sorry. I thought this could be a fun hypothetical discussion discussing other sci-fi in the Star Wars universe.

    Thatís a bizarrely convoluted premise.

Take the basic elements of the lore, have a decent story, but more importantly interesting characters with good casting, yeah, execute it correctly, and Star Wars fans will accept it.

On the Mandalorian roundtable show, Dave Filoni gives his rundown of the heart of the first 6 films and it hit me that Lucas had the skeleton of a good prequel series, he just didnít execute it well, he didnít surround it with a good enough story, the characters were a lifeless or poorly cast.

Yeah I don't think there's any way they would do this. Even if they did, would it really matter? It's not like the majority of Star Wars fans who are casual would even keep up with it. Also, Carrie Fisher is dead, so any chance of actually rebooting the sequel trilogy is gone. They had one chance to do it right, and they screwed the pooch. I couldn't even get excited over seeing Luke Skywalker or Han Solo on screen again after what they did.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I don't see it happening because there would be backlash that they are erasing the contributions of Rey. When you add Finn, Rose and obviously Laura Dern, well it would be considered a slight to minorities and women.

Now I have a suggestion if they should go down this path. Call up Mark Hamill while he is living. Put him in his jedi robe and film him sleeping. Show him waking up and saying "wow what a nightmare that was" Insert footage at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. This way you don't need to confuse people about mirrors and such

Dumb premise. If they're going to erase anything from the Star Wars films, let it be Attack of the Clones...pure garbage on every level. I get the Last Jedi is polarizing -and has it's flaws, but it's not Attack of the Clones bad. Yes, many hear will disagree.

Non reliable source, not gonna happen.

While Iíd love a re-do on some aspects of the ST Lucasfilm would never eat that crow.

Theyíre just going to move on and focus on whatís working - stories like The Mandalorian.

Don't understand why Disney said no to all the source material available for SW. There's been comic book stories, novels written, cartoon stories, there's gotta be something in their they could use. A whole bunch of characters nobody even knows. Some are probably pretty cool.

Agreed. It's the only SW movie that I really dont ever want to watch again. So bad, that I still haven't bothered to watch the Rise Of Skywalker. And, now, even my son said Rise Of Skywalker was boring, so I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to see that one. It sucks, because I loved both Rogue One and Solo, but the main trilogy they just botched so badly. Completely mishandled all of the classic characters and actors that so many of us grew up loving, and replaced them with new characters whose development either never went anywhere, or just never had any reason to even care about them making them forgettable characters.
