Yeah Obi Wan is good.

Againi its amazing how we got shitty prequels and worse sequels. Travesty actually. Get decent writers and think of the story, well you get good results. No spoilers cause I know its new. Its nice to see Ewan do more than "the younglings......" Great actor. Now is it the best thing? No but its going to be worth a watch. Now I don't know canon but I guess one or two things may break it. I am a bit surprised by Disney marketiing. Will just leave it at that and will give them kudos at this point.

Its a bit slower in pace but dont' have a problem because we all know its not going to be a shoot em up type of show.

One thing I need to see is Grand Moff Tarkin-style bad guys. In Ep IV, the Empire was run by a bunch of nazi-like bureaucrats. They didn't even care for Vader, considered him a fool believing in a old cookoo religion. Now I know Vader has become legendary since. But you can't change the fact that Vader before Empire Strikes Back didn't run the show, a bunch of bureaucrats ran the empire day to day, not Sith Lords. That's what Rogue One got right, they had this dude Kremnick (?) - evil, but without superpowers, just a damn bureaucrat who cares only about himself and getting promoted.

Disney marketing has seemed to listen to creators if they make a good argument. For example, they normally would’ve had The Child products ready to go by the premiere but that would’ve ruined the reveal at the end of the first episode, so they relented.

interesting- opening episode really drives home what happens when Jedi feel shame and makes Luke's story in last Jedi more believesble

I don’t think we will see much of that if any because this is more about obi wan and somewhat about anakin/Vader, more than it is about the empire or any overarching entity

But think about it. The Emperor likes Siths and all, but he's a bit burnt out on them. All his last 3 hires did a pretty poor job and basically failed. Dath Maul, Dooku and Anakyn. Anakyn should've been dead if Obi Wan didn't spare him. So the story in Ep IV is that the Emperor's had it with Sith apprentices, is done seeing guys play with lightsabers, and much prefers a reliable dude like Tarkin and loads of expendable stormtroopers. Tarkin gets shit DONE, blows up planets without batting an eyelash, and makes it home for dinner on time.
So these inquisitors, I'm not too keen on - they seem out of place in the timeline. Otherwise it's a great show and I'll easily admit the stuff on Alderaan made me teary-eyed.

too bad grand inquisitor got the shaft I kinda liked him. Reva is pretty mean tho. reminds me of Kylo in a way….just angry at shit and powerful but can’t help or handle herself

He can't be dead, he is in Star Wars Rebels which takes place another ~5 years down the line. Has to be a fake out or misdirect for the audience that hasn't seen Rebels. Or maybe reviving him/saving him will be a plot point?

One thing's been bothering the hell out of me for years. In the OT, ep IV, V, VI, the stormtroopers can't even dent the helmet of any jedi. They're totally harmless. Jedi can play mind tricks, use the force, lightsaber, etc. Stormtroopers are no match. And we're supposed to believe that in Ep III, with the famed "order 66," they're able to take down the whole jedi council, minus Yoda and Obi Wan?!!? Something just doesn't compute.
