I have no problem with Metallica, I think they put out some incredible music over the years. Saw them live twice, and they were awesome shows. I even liked Load, "Bleeding Me" kicked my ass all over the house. Maybe what they've done in the past ten years isn't the greatest, but do we really want to see a bunch of 40-somethings re-hash Blitzkrieg and Hit the Lights over and over again? Every group changes if they stick around long enough.....

Thumbs up on the Metallicatz, their career is nothing to be ashamed of at all. Even if Lars did piss off the planet on the downloading issue.

Rightfully so, even if he did. Regardless of whether I'm a millionaire, or not, I wouldn't want my hard earned time, energy and music to be stolen, either. I would say: "You're gonna take food off of my table? Fuck YOU and THAT.", too. But, that's a whole other issue on my beliefs that people who download music illegally should have their balls ripped off and don't understand that music industry one bit.

Metallica rocks. I saw them twice this year.

I agree, what's yours is yours. I'm not into downloading, I guess it's okay if the artist doesn't mind, and I can see where it could actually sell an album. But musicians have rights, and "They've already got more money than they'll ever spend" is NOT a valid argument in my mind.

I agree guys, being that I'm a musician myself. I download bootleg live shows and shit, but when it comes to the copyrighted material from the albums, I never touch it. I still get that rush of goin to the store and pickin up the latest album, and rippin the plastic off it in anticipation of what I'm about too hear. I'll always have that man. Nothing like flippin open the jacket cover and readin the lyrics and credits while I play the cd.

As for Metallica, I haven't listened to them much over the last two years, but there was a time that I was really into them big time. I've got all the albums, and a few live performances layin around. Got to see them when they performed a free concert here in Philly like seven years ago I think it was. I picked up Binge and Purge a few months ago, which was their box set collection thingy. They finally released it in a smaller package and lowered the price. It comes with like four cds and two dvd performances. I still haven't really had a chance to listen or watch all of it, I just picked it up because it was such a bargain.

I love Metallica from Kill Em All up into the Black album, but that's where it stops for me. Never cared for Load or Reload, and I'm not going to get into St. Anger. Good band though, and they put on a great live show.

Just finished listening to "Frantic" live and it really kicks so much more ass than on the record. Frantic is really better than anything they have put out since the Black Album. I saw them live for like the tenth time this past August and it was awesome as usual. They don't disappoint live and know how to give the fans what they want. Not the same old tired setlist night after night.

Metallica kicks ass! I don't care much for the new bassist though - he looks & acts like a big monkey. But they still put on a great live show - saw them in Nov & they played Call of Ktulu - it was amazing!!!

    Default The Metallica Thread

Didn't see a thread for these guys yet.......

They are supposedly working on a new album. Hopefully they won't use the same drums that they used on the last album. That twanging was annoying as hell.

Really?? I've been following Rob since he was with Suicidal Tendancies and Ozzy and he smokes as a bass player and given the opportunity, he can sing, too. (Seek and Destroy - Pensacola, FL - 2004) I think he's the perfect addition to the band. Him and James mesh well as (IMO) the back-bone of that band.
