    Absolutely.

Metallica also has a die hard global fan base. A fanbase that they’ve been cultivating since the 80’s. Metallica have been touring globally, regularly since 03’ and they’ve released three albums of new material.

Van Halen released one album of new material in 20 years and toured three times in North America.

Not meant as a slight on VH. It just is, what it is. That impacts interest.

For some reason, they simply don't. Which is of course their right, not bitching, just would love to have it for my own personal enjoyment.
Yep. Sure, VH's legacy isn't what it could've been, but for some reason people still like to make them out to be some little cult band or something. They were an arena act all the way to the end, and there are a lot of bands with smaller followings than Metallica, and even VH, that have done special releases.

Uh, don’t you mean “Sad, but true”?

This thing is insane - not sure how i’d feel if I were a Metallica fan. I like some demos, but not to that extreme!

Anyone know how Best Of Both Worlds did with only three songs, or the remasters first time or second time, with no bonus tracks? I feel like if Van Halen did expanded versions of their albums, they’d do all right. I wonder how The Cars did with their recent rereleases of Candy-O through Heartbeat City? On top of the Moving In Stereo collection. They also put out an early live show for record store day and later on iTunes. Bottom line is we probably don’t need a 16 disc version of Van Halen but add an era live show and/or a disc of demos and it would do okay, even though a lot of people would possibly be closing in on a fifth purchase!

The European market will eat this box set up.

We simply cannot fathom just how into Metallica (and heavy metal) they are over there.

They could play exclusively in stadiums and festival grounds in Europe and they’d do just fine.

I'll pass on the Metallica box set.
I'd rather they just released some archival live albums separately.
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Europeans love their live music. Not sure how much that translates to sales of albums, memorabilia, etc.

Hell, DLR was still playing small arenas in Europe in the mid 90's, when he was playing Rib Fests here.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

To expand on this further, it is not just Europe, it is AROUND THE WORLD interest. Their International fans are immense, like Iron Maiden.

Even in Europe, they are not just playing the UK... 2019...they hit Russia, Poland, Czech Rep, Austria, Romania, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal

In the past they have also been all over South America, Asia, Middle East, Fucking Antarctica.

They are a Global Touring force. Playing Huge Stadiums and the biggest Arenas.

One other note.... It could be possible they release Moscow 1991 separately at some point. They actually have the "Multi-Tracks" for that show, it was professionally recorded. Now it is a special Vinyl release in this Box set. The other shows in the Black Album Box Set like Sacramento 92 are just straight soundboard tapes. Others in past box sets were actually Audience tapes.

Moscow 91 is such a historic performance. The Video for Harvester of Sorrow was previously released in the Year and a half video. Iconic at this point

    upgraded video:

Doctor: You have 3 minutes left to live
Me: I want to listen to harvester of sorrow live
    Doctor: But that's 6 minutes
    God: It's alright

I really like that song, always have. It's a simple song to play, but just sounds good.
