Izzy Stradlin Clarifies Why He's Not Part of Guns N' Roses Reunion Tour

Former guitarist for Guns N’ Roses Izzy Stradlin has clarified why he’s not part of the band’s reunion tour. In a tweet Stradlin disputed a TV interview Axl Rose gave where he expressed confusion as to why the guitarist hadn’t joined.

“Bullsh*t. They didn’t want to split the loot equally . Simple as that . Moving right along……..” Stradlin wrote on Twitter.

NME reported during the interview that Rose had said, “I don’t even know what to say. We make arrangements, and then he goes and does other things. With Izzy, you never know what to expect.”

The band’s reunion tour is especially notable because Rose has reunited with original members Slash and bassist Duff McKagan. The three performed onstage together for the first time since 1993. Steven Adler, who served as the original drummer for the band, has not been present for the majority of the tour due to a back injury that required surgery. He has been performing with Guns N’ Roses whenever it is physically possible.

While he is not technically in the band anymore, Stradlin has still performed with them multiple times since leaving in 1991. In 1993, he performed five shows with the group in 1993 when replacement Gilby Clarke injured his wrist. He also performed in a European tour with Guns N’ Roses in 2007 and in five shows in 2012.

Stradlin has released 11 solo albums since leaving the band, including 2010’s Wave Of Heat.

His solo career peaked with JuJu Hounds.

117° is just okay. Everything I've heard after that is not very good.

I bet Slash and Duff didn't get what Axl got for that so-called "reunion". GNR will always be his baby since he took over all those years ago. I'd rather see Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators anyway.

Adler has played with them a few times since they got back together but he's never been invited to be full time. I guess Axl thinks he's not good enough or reliable for the job. It also sucks that he still hates Matt Sorum for some reason.

Steven Adler really blew it getting fired from the biggest band on the planet at that time. It was bad enough he was a hardcore junkie but it's been said he almost died a few times, especially when he had a stroke. As Brett mentioned, he just can't do it anymore. I really like Matt Sorum but Frank Ferrer was the better choice. And now he's gone too.

Sounds like he was forced out. The fact that they announced their new drummer so fast kind of points to it. They wanted someone new in the fold.
