I only remember the title track, which sounded better than the CD.

The songs from Chinese Democracy sound much better live. I wish they recorded them that way. I bought the album when it came out and maybe listened to it twice, it seemed way too manufactured to me. I haven't seen any of these reunion shows in person, but what I've seen on video makes me appreciate those tunes a little more. It's a more honest and raw performance. Having said that, I'd prefer they ditch those newer songs altogether and put more of the classics in their set list.

Could just be me, not a drummer, but I think the drums really stand out on AFD, you notice the fills he is doing in the songs, they contribute to the melody, in comparison to UYI.

Agreed. Adler played to the song, and did exactly what was needed to serve the songs. Not sure if that spoke to his limited skill or not. I think that's why any drum fills stand out more on AFD, because he never did too much so you notice it more when he did.
I didn't really like Sorum when he joined the band, but he grew on me fairly quickly. They were certainly able to spread their wings a bit more with Sorum. But nothing beats AFD.
