I hear you, although that intro may very well be my favorite part of the album, at least in the top 3 moments on the album. Classic Ed and Al bringing the thunder. But, yeah, I could see where that tom sound from the intro to Sucker, or even better yet the jungle drum tone from EWS would have made it even more bombastic.

Name 5 LZ Studio songs you no longer listen to because officially released live versions are so much better.

    1. Kashmir
    2. SIBLY
    3. TSRTS
    4. OTHAFA
    5. Immigrant Song

    Definitely SIBLY and OTHAFA.
I would add The Ocean, What Is and What Should Never Be, and Stairway.

Which version of Kashmir? The one from Celebration Day?

Not sure I think that about any LZ song.

There are very few songs period I can think of, by any band.

    5150 from LWAN for VH.

Take Hold of the Flame by Queensryche is another.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Can’t say I no longer listen to them, but I do prefer the officially released live versions more.

    1. Rock & Roll (from the original TSRTS soundtrack)
    2. No Quarter (original TSRTS soundtrack...a no-brainer for that extended wha-wha pedal jam and guitar solo)
    3. Trampled Underfoot (from the DVD)
    4. Immigrant Song/Heartbreaker (from HTWWW)
    5. Whole Lotta Love (from the DVD disc 2..I like the funk they bring to this one)...although my favorite version is from The Deep Throat III bootleg...the one that dovetails into Black Dog and has the Lickin’ Stick vamp.
