5150 Final show ever--June 9th 2001

Hi all-

Just wanted to post that myself and another VHLinker (Lead Synth) took a 4 hour road trip and caught the FINAL show 5150 ever performed in London Ontario CA over the weekend. These guys are an excellent VH tribute band and they will be missed! I've seen them a few other times before and they never disappoint.

Anyone here on the Links ever been fortunate enough to see these guys? 5150 ROCKED!


Now I have to sit back and wait for the REAL VH to tour again. (I should be ready to retire when that happens [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] )


Anyway, ROCK ON- And to Maya (Lead Synth) thanks for roadtripping up with me to that kick ass show! It rocked!-- It's 5150 TIME!!!

Hey Glenn-

To answer your question: They have a separate band called "Gravity Pharm" and they do all originals in this band. Basically, the guys have been touring as 5150 for like 5 1/2 years and I think they were just getting burned out. (I know, how do you get burned out from VH ? [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] )

So anyway- they decided to hang up the "cover band" thing and concentrate on their own music.

When they played their last show Saturday as 5150, they also played a set as "Gravity Pharm"

After seeing their blazing original set I think and I believe Maya would concur: Their original stuff KICKS ASS!!!!

I remember seeing these guys live in the summer of 96.During one of the intermissions i had a beer with the singer and we talked about the new songs Roth and Vh were working on at the time.I remember telling him that i thought Roth would be back in the band for good and he kept insisting that Sammy would be back.I guess we were both wrong.

June 9th 2001 just happened to be my 29th Birthday! (Just thought I would add that)
Every VH tribute band I have seen has been great and a refreshing feeling of hope that maybe someday DLR and/or Sammy will re-join. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Yeah, Maya (Lead Synth) and myself had a blast this past weekend. It was a great show, and we also met some cool people too!

I have their business card that has their Gravity Pharm web site, but it's at home and I'm at work right now-

Though I would bet if you go into a search engine and type in "Gravity Pharm" I'm sure you'd find the site! It's a pretty unique name...!

Yeah, they definitely rocked! However Maya would agree, 5150 didn't play as long as we would have liked 'em to...They usually do a lot of encores and for the last show they didn't do any.

However, it WAS pretty late in the night when they started and it appeared they wanted to keep going, but the people in charge of the place we were at said they had to stop. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Ah well- It still rocked all the same!
